Well, as it turns out, you can find it pretty easily if you know what I mean, it's likely taken from the Australian Region 4 (PAL exclusive) DVD or the UK Region 2 DVD which feature the fully uncut version, sped up by PAL standards by 4% to 99 minutes, and this transfer is severely lacking in color correction, there's a very obvious blue hue to it all. But if that doesn't bother you, look it up.

This June it'll be 15 months since the last upgrade (The Hidden Fortress in March 2014).

I personally would love to see Ikiru or The Bad Sleep Well in today's announcement.

When it comes to Criterion, you can't be using 'overdue' and not follow it up with 'Rivette'.

Actually, I was surprised to discover that Criterion have only released Rohmer's Six Moral Tales. Not that I'm particularly bothered as I make my way through Potemkine's set, which must surely rank among the greatest home video releases ever. I'd be happy with a Criterion release of 'Everything that's unsubbed on the Potemkine box set'.

I say, give Kurosawa a rest for another year or two. He's overrepresented in the CC.

Plenty of other filmmakers either aren't in the CC at all, or haven't had one of their films announced in several years.

That probably doesn't make much financial sense for Criterion. I would imagine Kurosawa films sell well for them.

Besides, we really need a Red Beard blu. At least, i know I do.

One person who is not is Fellini! Two of the Criterion gems are not even released on BD yet which is a shame. La Strada and Nights of Cabiria.

Kurosawa is massively popular so I didn't expect my unpopular opinion to be agreed upon by anyone (as seen by the people responding to me and the people thanking those people's posts). It's just how I feel.
