Well, of course, people have gotten some items but I hope the threads don't become clogged with lists of titles that everyone buys. If you're looking for that sort of boring stuff, then you should check out the "B&N 50%-off" thread in the Deals section.
If you care to go back in the pages until Monday(7/12) when the B&N sale started online, then I'm sure you'll find plenty of unnecessary lists that people have posted in regards to what they've bought so far. However, if you're not willing to take the time to go back and read the already posted lists, then I suggest not asking for people to re-post their lists. You're just a little behind on all the current sale hoopla, aggie. CC |

I didn't think so. It's not meant to be. Aggie just hasn't been in the loop for a while and I'm merely pointing him in some directions to find what he's looking for. It also helps keep this thread from becoming clogged with a bunch of lists when there's a practically good thread for that in the Deals section currently.
We should maintain this thread for more important and meaningful topics of discussion... like Married With Children, Saturday Night Live, Velvet Underground, Gobots, etc. PS... I don't have any "friends." CC |

Has anybody ever went to Criterion's site and added everything to your cart to see how much everything was (not counting OOP titles). Just wondering.

Can someone please tell me whats wrong with Barnes and Noble? Ive sent them mail, but they dont answer. First I get the message that my orders have been delayed, now I get a mail that ONE of the five films Ive bought has been shipped, and they managed to charge 10$ for the shipping. 15$ was the total shipping costs for ALL the films together.
Product Description Quantity Ship Date Price Yojimbo 1 07-17-2010 $19.99 Sub Total: $19.99 Shipping & Processing: $10.98 Total Shipment Price: $30.97 EDIT: Okei, when I logged into my account and checked order status I saw that things was a little better, but still not what I payed for. * Yojimbo * Akira Kurosawa, Toshiro Mifune, Eijiro Tono, Seizaburo Kawazu * Blu-ray - Special Edition / Wide Screen / B&W Shipment Subtotal: $19.99 Shipping & Handling: $3.79 Shipment Total: $23.78 3,79 x 5 = 18.95. Thats three dollars more than what I payed for. Its not a problem for me, but I dont understand their system. The mail I got says one thing, then the info on my order status-page says something else. Paypal has already withdrawn the money, many days ago, so do they charge me more now that the shipping seems to cost more? Last edited by retask; 07-17-2010 at 06:34 PM. |

See, Chad - here's why I prefer to buy in-store from Barnes and Noble.
![]() Watched Red Desert, last night. The movie looks stunning on blu-ray. I'm glad I picked this one up. After I finished it, I wanted to start it over, because I had a couple distractions (phone calls), and it pulled me out of the movie a few times. But, rather than start it over, I watched my DVD copy of David Lean's Oliver Twist. Awesome adaptation! |

Thanks! You have quite the list too! I haven't seen Gomorrah, Mystery Train, or M--do you mind providing me with some feedback on these films?

400 Blows might be my favorite Criterion blu released yet. I love that film. The paper case doesn't bother me, although plastic would've been preferred. The paper case for Last Year at Marienbad, however, I love. I really like the white on white embossed lettering.

got:
#221 Ikiru The Red Balloon/White Mane (it seems to be impossible to find White Mane by itself, This was only a few dollars more for both and I can see if my opinion has change since Junior (2000) High School Film Class for The Red Balloon.) which brings the total: 18 (10 LaserDiscs | 6 DVDs | 2 Blu-rays) I'm Done Now ![]() .....For Awhile ![]() |

I picked up The Leopard and Bottle Rocket on blu-ray so far for the 50% off sale. Too bad all the sale will be over when the really awesome September and October releases roll around. If you pre-order them on B&N now, do you get 50% off when you pick them up on release date?

OK...it seems like this is another lazy Saturday. Let's stimulate some thinking.
What is the oldest film you've ever seen, that you saw when it was first released in theaters/cinemas. The film obviously can't be older than you and in all fairness...a film that you remember for the most part. I guess for me it would be "You Only Live Twice"...Sean Connery as James Bond (June of 1967). I was bearly nine years old and seeing it with my parents at the drive-in theater. The next after that...and not only one that I remember explicitly...but one that I went to see on my own with my brother. "2001: A Space Odyssey" (April 1968). This time in a movie theater in Nanuet, NY that (at the time) had a state of the art "multi-channel" sound system with huge woofers. Close behind that is "Yellow Submarine" (November 1968) that I also saw in a movie theater as a Saturday afternoon matinee. |
