I have a dream to have Mulholland Drive finally being released on Blu-ray but I would totally double dip for a Criterion Let the Right one in.

Bergman's "Silence of God" Trilogy Box Set
and... something that sounds great that I have never even heard of but should totally have already seen and will ultimately end up loving.

I don't think this is asking for too much.

A Mulholland Drive announcement will be perfect. I was getting ready to purchase it to continue my Persona>Three Women>Mulholland Drive marathon. I'll delay the buy if it gets a Criterion release soon.

I was gonna say they'll probably save Mulholland Dr. for November, as that tends to be their big release month, but then I remembered how huge last October was.

well, just finished Rififi and it far exceeded my expectations
great example of why i continue to blind buy Criterion films
when they pay off like this, which is quite common, i just want to
put this movie back on the shelf and dive right back

will be watching My Beautiful Laundrette today because i saw that it is
on demand. gotta take advantage of that!

Yeah, Tales of Hoffman. I believe it's with StudioCanal, though (I may be wrong). I'd love it if Criterion would get it back; supposedly the restoration is glorious and I know Criterion would do great things with that release.

I own the UK Blu of Tales of Hoffman and it looks great. With the pull Scorsese has with the film in regards to restoration I think it will be released by Criterion thru Studio Canal. Also that Criterion commentary from their DVD is one of my favorite commentaries.

For The Red Shows and Black Narcissus those BLUs came out about a year after the UK restored blu for Red Shoes so it could be a while longer if Criterion gets it, maybe?

I finished watching The River last night and was underwhelmed by it. Considering the high praise from Martin Scorcesse I was expecting a more interesting story. Beautiful Technicolor cinematography though.

It is in my wishlist too...but I have a feeling that it would not be a very happening film. I mean, not a lot of things would happen. Did Renoir try to symbolize life with the pace of the river just before meeting sea/ocean?

my Dream Oct month would be

Mulholland Drive, The Brood, Carnival of Souls, After Hours, and Vampyre

There are many other titles I would love for an upgrade but for Oct these would be cool.
