That eye design is pretty cool.
I'm a sucker for Japanese plush stuff. As we speak there are happy looking plushes of both a pork sandwich and a Japanese pastry on my movie shelves. These would fit right in.

That would kill my OCD. All the same height releases need to be together. You're doing it wrong!

As much as I hate the OCD comments (sorry!) I do agree lol, all my digipaks are together on one shelf, all my blurays on another, then my DVD digipaks together and finally my DVD together lol.

I also then separate my blurays by company, Arrow, Criterion Plain, MoC etc :P

It's crazy we haven't seen plastic cases for Fox or Persona yet.

I seperate mine by company for the most part except I place the same directors together. I was just messing with you. Looks awesome!

Anybody have impressions/recommendations of the following:

Charuluta
Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence
Il Sorpasso
The Vanishing
Master of the House

I'm itching to make my 4th trip to B&N

I don't know that they will necessarily get plastic cases, just BD-only releases.

Il Sorpasso is top notch, and I quite like Charulata and The Vanishing; I haven't seen the other two.

Last night I finally said "the hell with it!" and took the wrapping off the copy of World on a Wire that I bought a week ago.

As I'm watching the first ten minutes I'm thinking to myself "I'm watching a 1973 sci-fi film originally made for German television."

...I felt alive.

That is so cool! I'm jealous of your shelving; it's very nice. I need to find something similar. Right now I have my blu-ray collection housed in a couple of nice oak bookcases, but it's outgrowing them. I just ordered my 200th Criterion blu-ray, The BBS Story boxed set, and I'd like to have my Criterion blu-rays together with my 26 Criterion DVDs in one unit.

By the way, I notice you have your collection alphabetized ... me, too! I started to arrange them by spine number, but decided against it. It makes it too hard for me to find anything ...

Thanks. I've got 5 of them from Target. Put together yourself, but still nice. 4 hold my DVDs and blu-rays, and 1 for my CDs.

Thanks, I must have them alpha order as well. I'm not quite to 100 yet (97 and counting), but soon. Want to make 100 a special one. My birthday is soon so my wife may beat me to buying number 100. And I too must have them all together, I just put all Criterion at the end with blu-rays first, then DVDs at the end.

The height thing kills me too, but alpha order is more important!

I've seen some discussion on Hard Eight lately. I think this is a great film with a superb screenplay. Paul Thomas Anderson is a genius filmmaker in my opinion, and Criterion would be well served to include at least one of his films in the collection. I couldn't think of a better one than his very first feature film which is this one. The Sony DVD (http://www.amazon.com/Eight-Special-.../dp/B00000K3D3) is long out of print but I am lucky to own this (purchased it over a decade ago when it was still in print). This would make for a perfect Criterion release. Philip Baker Hall is awesome in this movie and Samuel L. Jackson and John C. Reilly have some great acting performances too. Next year is the 20th anniversary for this film so I have a feeling it will be released on blu-ray in 2016.
