Definitely. Maybe the other Welles / Shakespeare films will be released, too.

Hopefully very very soon. Have a lot of dislike for them taking so many great titles and doing nothing with them in region A.

I practically made out with the mailman today.

Here is my 5 OOP disc order with two replacement cases.

This isn't the biggest Criterion purchase I've made, but it is the biggest for this few titles. And I could not be happier.

I am now 3 away from Blu-Ray completion: The Third Man, Pierrot le fou, Blue is the Warmest Color (special edition when it comes out).

Better make sure none of those have any disc rot. Especially Howards End.

Just watched Leon Morin again the other night. Fantastic film. Chungking is watched over and over at my house.

I will check, but I am pretty sure if they do, that I can still get a replacement.

Agreed about Leon Morin. It was the cheapest of the lot, but shouldn't be (not that I'm complaining). It is under-appreciated.

3 away from all the Blu-Rays? Wow.

I swore I would never pay more than $100 for a blu-ray and the fever got me last year during the July B&N sale. I got a nice mint copy on eBay from Australia of Third Man for about $170. And, I paid way too much for Man Who Fell.

Trying to fill holes on your shelves is an expensive hobby.

Really two. I could get Blue anytime I want, but I'm still waiting on this special edition that may never happen.

The Criterion is inferior to the Studio Canal in every single regard. That shot is no exception.

Zoom in on the Ferris Wheel on this shot. It's no contest. The Criterion has what i would call noisy grain while the Studio Canal resolves it and loses zero detail.

One of my favourite films and rightly considered one of the best ever made. I had the original Criterion DVD release but did not buy the BD before it went OOP as I had not yet made the switch.

I paid a little over $100 for a LNIB example (plastic case version, not the original Digipak). To me it was absolutely worth it and I will never sell it. I found the prices for a sealed copy to be unrealistic, but clearly some people have paid $200-$300 (or even more).

I have the new 4k SC en route from Amazon.fr. I purchased the French issue as I prefer the cover art to the UK release.

I know that feeling myself. I started collecting CC titles about a month ago, said I wouldn't spend past a certain amount for the OOP stuff then went & spent $100 on Le Cercle Rouge lol. For The Third Man & The Man who Fell to Earth though I may just go with the Criterion DVDs since they're much cheaper then the BDs.

Speaking of OOP Criterions, I will be selling Army of Shadows, Le Cercle Rouge, Howards End (with Replacement Disc), Léon Morin, and The Man Who Fell to Earth (with Replacement Case).

How incredibly cool! Congratulations! I want to be you when I grow up! Actually, I'm at 244 Criterion blu-rays now, and luckily, I've managed to get copies of all the OOP titles. I paid the most for my copy of The Third Man; it was $100.00, but it came in the plastic case, which I prefer. I've finally had to admit to myself that, for better or worse, I'm going to end up being a completist. Anyway ... I'm very happy for you. You inspire me!

I think the PQ of the original DVD release of The Third Man is very good. And it can certainly be had for very reasonable money. I haven't seen the Criterion reissue. It has a couple of additional extras, but I understand some have expressed reservations about image framing (see the DVDBeaver review for more information).

I love your priorities. And if I haven't told you, I love your blog too. Soon I wonder what I'll spend my disposable income on. MoC will get a fair share, but probably won't ever get to completion. I may work on the best of the Region B, which of course will include MoC, Arrow, BFI, Artificial Eye and a few others. That Rivette set already has me drooling.

Thank you! The Third Man is still my Holy Grail, but I am hoping some of you 4k SC importers will decide to rid yourself of the Blu-Ray. I did make an offer to one of those people, but it was lower than the market value, yet I think it is the new market value. I don't see people spending $250 for it when there's a better version.

I've tried to do it smart, but slowly and surely and do my big spending on sales. You'll get there in time.

Whenever someone mentions credit sequences I can't help but think about Enter the Void. Criterion was offered the option to release this but they passed on it. It is a flawed film but the intro credits are super entertaining.

$65, but someone has already questioned me about it, so if it doesn't go through, you're next in line.
