Love the film. Been hoping to see a Criterion release of it as well. When the other film was announced by Criterion I assumed it was Imamura's version. It was a great blind buy though as I had never seen it.

**edit** thanks for bringing up this title. Did not know about this. Nice~!

Sadly it looks like that set is the last "hurrah" for Imamura on blu in 'B' territory, it's all the blus MoC has released plus A Man Vanishes on DVD. They've condensed them into this limited edition box before the rights expire, so if you're interested in the individual releases with booklets now would be a good time to buy them before they go OOP. The price on the new set is unbeatable though.

I imagine its probably been discussed before, but I was just wondering which movie in the collection has the most beautiful/haunting score or soundtrack.

I love Three Colors: Blue and The Double Life of Veronique, but imo Picnic at Hanging Rock is the one that has the eeriest soundtrack and it fits perfectly with the movie.

What do you guys think? Whats your favorite score/soundtrack in the collection?

I made the mistake of ordering a few 50% off Criterion titles on the same order as a pre-order of Moonrise Kingdom. B&N finally shipped me Naked Lunch, George Washington and Make Way For Tomorrow. Got them today, but was convinced they would hold them until Moonrise ships next month.

So, I'm sharing this here and here only, just because I post here.

We had someone that works at Criterion booked to do our post-release podcast. We weren't going to ask any secrets, just talk about him personally, do some geeking on films, and that sort of thing. He was excited and we talked about the format for a few days. He just had to clear it with Criterion, but he didn't expect that to be a problem.

They said no. It is because they want to control how information gets out. While I understand, it is frustrating and one of the things I dislike about Criterion. I may ask Twilight Time to do it instead.

That's all I can say. Won't say who.

Frustrating, but I can't say I'm surprised. I imagine their PR department as a bunch of retired spooks.

LOL! That would be something if Mulvaney were real and he announced himself to the world on our podcast.

Of course the entire podcast would consist of:

"We're making a fix to the DRESSED TO KILL release, and the street date has been moved to September 8th. The copy that you receive from Amazon should be the corrected version. If you happen to receive the first edition, please email me then with proof of purchase and your mailing address and I'll send you a corrected disc. The corrected edition will say 'second printing’ on the disc and the cover wrap. Please see our announcement on the website regarding this, and please let me know if you have additional questions."

That sucks, do you know if they even hear the recording before saying no?

I remember a podcast from the Masters of Cinema cast where they invited someone who works at Eureka, and it was a great listen, too bad it didn't work with Criterion.

Hmmm, not sure. They are definitely aware of my website and probably the podcast. I did get their explanation, which I'll keep to myself, and I don't think it would have mattered.

Michael Koresky was on the Eclipse Viewer and it was an amazing episode. Who knows? Maybe things will change.
