Congratulations and welcome to the fold.

We used to have a saying when I played Magic: The Gathering years ago.

"Crack is cheaper"

I think it can apply to the Criterion Collection as well.

Sadly, no.

I have my lauch model PS3 60GB (which I modded to a 500GB), and while I am tempted to sell it and buy aa sweet Oppo player, I am lazy...

(According to the Amazon MArketplace the 60GB model sells for $1100, seriously go to amazon and search it)

Don't worry, the addiction will soon override any concerns you have about prices.

Much like Armageddon, The Rock, Robocop, Silence of the Lambs, Sid and Nancy, etc... they lost the right to release newly restored versions of theses films. This is what is referred to as Out of Print, or OOP. You'll see it mentioned throughout this thread quite often.

Well I can say I prob like my records more than my movie collection. That's hard to say. But that's just because I like music more than films (Which again is hard to say, because I want to work in the film industry). So if you think your a movie collector, do you think so with music as well?

Also can someone give me $100 so I can get this:

http://www.sundazed.com/shop/product...oducts_id=1513

There is just so much crap I want this year between movies and music. And everything has got to be on the wrong side of $50 (von Sternberg silents, a maybe New Hollywood set, and that link above).

I suppose so, I've been collecting CDs since I was around 12 (so about 16 years now) and have about 700 of them. I've also been buying hard to find vinyl items for the past few years (mainly from one of my favorite bands Porcupine Tree). I do enjoy music, and if push came to shove, I'd say I like it more than movies, but I think that's just because I can listen to it anywhere. Though as my tastes refine a little more, I'm becomeing a little bit of an audiophile, so mp3s are going by the wayside for me. If it's not on physical media, I'm a little leary. I'll even buy the vinyl now before getting a CD.
Much like DVD turned me into a videophile (and blu-ray just enhanced that further) the reimergence of vinyl records has down the same for me with audio.

I'd totally go for that set, but if the rumors are true about the remastered Beatles Vinyl set, that would the priority.

So I would call you a music collector.

Of my records, my fav of mine is the original album of The Doors - L.A. Woman with the yellow paper sleeve with the crucifix. It's pretty cool. I wish I can find the original (have the record, just not the original) Velvet Underground & Nico album with the Sticker still on it for a good price.

Oh and that VU Quine Tapes record set will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine.

Just when I have enough money for it.
