I couldn't find any measurements online, but I did find this photo in someone's collection to make a comparison. It is a large set, but not bulky IMO.

I do a little bit of the same with some of my larger box sets. Kind of like this one, though this shelf now as the '66 Batman TV series on it as well.

Great, I already have two of the titles, and don't plan on getting The Merchant of Four Seasons, but at least that means Criterion will probably release all those others over the following years.

Whoa. Talk about throwing down a gauntlet (not that distributors think in the same parochial, petty inter-label rivalry terms we do).

It's a shame that Fox has slacked off on releasing the older stuff lately.

Twilight Time has picked up the slack with the Fox Film Noir series on Blu-ray, apparently, since House of Bamboo was recently released by them, and Where the Sidewalk Ends will be released in early 2016.
Exactly ... I may be mistaken, but I don't think that Fox has released a "classic" catalog title since The Razor's Edge (1946) came out this past January. I found six titles that I wanted for myself, and then picked up a couple more to give as Christmas gifts. If Fox doesn't get busy and put out some more catalog titles, I'm not going to need or want anything when the next Flash Sale rolls around ... and that's sad since 20th Century-Fox is my favorite studio from the "Golden Era".

The Apu Trilogy is coming. Got an email this morning and had $10 taken off from Amex. They have a shop small business promo this month, so I'm pretty hyped to be receiving that in the mail some time next week.

Thinking about Yi Yi as a blind buy.

Is that a safe bet?

...anyone not like it or think it's overrated?

Not to mention having Fallen Angel and Whirlpool in the pipeline as well.

I've only done a couple of previous FoxConnect flash sales. I'm way behind on accumulating their Studio Classics releases, the Rogers & Hammerstein musicals, and a handful of random titles.

The Criterion Collection has posted an interview with Mathieu Amalric.

Maybe that unfairly maligned Bond film, Quantum of Solace, will get the respect that it deserves at long last. Haha.

I would be thrilled if Kings & Queen comes to the collection. It seems to make sense.
