I was so mad! I was watching Hopscotch on Netflix Instant when I realized during a Beatty rant that it was the "PG audio". I really loved what I saw, although I love Matthau (I met him once when I was five and I still remember him looking down at me and patting my head). Don't get why it's so marginalized...

The Guinness Parkinson episode is worth the MSRP for that title alone, given that it's a lengthy, in-depth career retrospective/method interview--and many moments of wonderful humor--with an actor who rarely gave interviews. Not to mention the fact that Kind Hearts and Coronets is an amazing comedic effort and, really a joy to watch.

Oh, an you also get an informative, lengthy documentary on Ealing Studios from the BBC's Omnibus series.

Definitely a steal at $18 and it made me pre-order the SC BD as I have a feeling that disc will have a commentary. One of my favorite Criterion purchases!

I do too, but the time I watch movies are really late at night (1:00 A.M.-3:00 A.M. start time), so some days I fall asleep during movies.

I haven't either, but I suppose I have a good excuse.
Is 5.25m viewers considered good, in a population of 300 million???
The top rated show over here gets around 700k viewers ever week, and there's only 4 million of us

What is Jersey Shore? I don't watch much TV outside of the scifi channels I have and Discovery, History & National Geo.

My family and I gave up TV 5 years ago. Folks at work will discuss shows and I have no idea what they are talking about.

The only thing I ever miss is the Weather Channel.

Given that the Kind Hearts and Coronets DVD is now OOP, I still was able to order it throngh B&N.com, but it says a 3-5 week wait, is there a chance I might not be getting it?

Well, of course, there's a chance. I was able to find a copy in my local store, which has a few of the other OOP titles (i.e. Port of Shadows, Pygmalion, etc.).

I ordered "The Milky Way" online, though, back at the beginning of the sale and received it rather quickly. I think my wait at the time was only 3 - 5 days, though... not weeks. I guess B&N just has to search through all of their warehouse inventory to see if there is an actual physical copy still available.

Guess it depends on the title. I ordered Diary of a Chambermaid earlier during the sale even though it gave the same 3-5 week wait. A couple of days ago I received an email from B&N saying my order had ben cancelled.

If it does, it does, no biggie. But I ordered The Horse's Mouth as well which IS available, I hope they don't cancel both since only one might be available for shipping.

My should have been since I'm not mad either. I went ahead and ordered Diary of a Chambermaid from a third party so I should be good anyway. The rest of your order should ship with no problem; at least that's been my experience.

Funny. it's still on the B&N site, with the same 3-5 week wait.

I'd definitely look at alternative options while you are waiting if you want the title. OOP and 3-5 weeks estimate is pretty much a crap shoot, regardless of where you buy something.

Well somwhow I managed to control myself with the sale. All I bought were a few Blu-Ray releases to complete my Criterion Blu collection. Still trying to keep from buying DVD releases since I'll probably just go crazy with them the way I did with Blu.

I'm guessing you are avoiding the awesome Eclipse Series sets too??

You know you want to buy one!

Actually I am still considering making a few Eclipse purchases. Especially so since those films are unlikely to come to Blu-Ray.

Just curious but what % of Criterion releases do you own? Looking at your collection pics it appears at least half of them.

I have about 343 (after this sale, not inc. the Essential Art House single titles and Red Balloon) and there are about 50+ more single titles and several box sets I still want to get but definitely in no rush to get them. I believe PowellPressburger has a lot more than I do.

Btw... for those who were wondering. The Bergman set that is on sale at oldies.com for $12.99 ($16+ overall) is the corrected version. Got mine in today.

I put an order in for Kind Hearts the first day of the sale. It get delayed shipping as urs seems to be and then it was cancelled. Luckily I found a store that had it about 15 min from my house and got it that way

Believe it or not I managed to snag a copy of Crumb on blu-ray at Best Buy today. Guess it must have leaked early, isn't it not supposed to be out for another week or so?

They really need to take the OOP items off the site! Sadly, not one of the stores in my area has copy.
