well, he has done only 2 from what I see and I wouldn't consider them "Criterion material".

In the case of Night and Fog they probably count the time it takes you to recover after those 32 minutes haha.

In 2015, TCM aired an interview that Ponti did with his mother, Sophia Loren. Might that be included in a future Sophia Loren release, say maybe, A Countess from Hong Kong?

Has Criterion ever, in their history, announced the monthly releases before the 15th of the month?

That would be nice for a change, to balance out all of the late announcements over the months/years.

This thread:

I haven't been able to visit the thread today, but here are the things that have been weighing on my mind all day...

What time are announcements? And, when is the next Barnes & Noble sale?
Are they announcing a blu upgrade of Andre Rublev?
Is Chungking Express coming back? Amazon says they're available.

Default Mulvaney

A slow Friday afternoon. Hundreds of unread messages with "Samourai" in the subject. An empty bottle of hooch in the desk drawer. The gal in the art department stopped replying to instant messages.

::Adds an arbitrary phantom page. Grabs popcorn.

That sounds like the opening to a script for a biopic simply titled, Mulvaney.

If you don't mind, I'm going to forward that to Paul Thomas Anderson.

...he's a friend of mine on Facebook.

Mulvaney, the depiction of the intense, tortued relationship between the meek, devoted employee of a prestige video-distribution company and one of its most ardent, relentless fans. Jonathan (Jon) Mulvaney never knew when the late-night, sometimes seemingly LSD-fueled calls to his cell and home phones would stop. He simply did his 8 hours every day at the highly-respected video-distributor the Criterion Collection. Then, he went home to his small Brooklyn abode and hoped to never hear the phone ring

The calls and e-mails from some passionate fans could reach levels that typically involved expletives and comments about his mother, but those levels were far exceeded by Criterion devotee Raymond (Ray) Jackson. Jackson's calls and e-mails would range into assertions such, as, "I see these faces coming off the wall, Mulvaney, in bright colors, and it's you and Jef Costello, motherf**ker, and you're yelling 'Le Samourai has no better chance of coming to Blu from us than 'Baby Geniuses'." Or they would include messages such as, "Mulvaney, it's Ray, Berlin Alexander-go-f**k-yourself. Sleep tight." A taut, suspenseful thriller that reaches unprecedented levels of terror.

This seems like one of those early 90's trashy thrillers about an obsessed person threatening the live of another person if they don't do something that they want. I'm not saying that this is a bad thing, but it will be damned entertaining. One of the few moments of terror is when Mulvaney is locked in a room full of nitrate film, and the temperature starts rising, causing the film reels one by one to start igniting, soon to be burning Mulvaney alive.

Haha, I like that. The title could be something like "Total Exposure". Too bad Don LaFontaine's not around any longer to do the voiceover for the trailer.

There are also recent photos on Instagram of Amy Heckerling and Terence Davies being in person with Criterion crew, if anybody wants to guess which movies they might be releasing of them.
