Talking about Jerry Lewis, The King of Comedy is one of the top American 80's films IMO, and my fav Scorsese film.

It's cool. Let's just it out and watch the new trailer for my most anticipated film of the year, Joaquin Phoenix in "I'm Still Here":

NO argument from me...a GREAT film and also my favorite Scorsese film.

What's taking Fox so long to release this on BD?

Maybe with Scorsese's "relationship" with Criterion, due to the PP releases of Black Narcissus and The Red Shoes, maybe he will have some pull and can get Criterion to release this on BD? NAH!!!

Come on Fox!!!

So I guess the Digibook of Easy Rider may go OOP with the upcoming Criterion release? (which contain the same extras, AND MORE!) Plus, with the upcoming Nov, Criterion sale this would be like 50 bones for 7 movies, Criterion style!

Oh I see... now Akira and Wes don't even qualify as people to you. Does you're prejudice know no bounds?!

Well speaking of Dennis Hopper I finally watched Blue Velvet for the first time today. Ya, believe it or not I never saw it before. Great, and very bizarre film. Dennis Hopper played one of the best psychopaths I've ever seen in the film. Hopper raging on while huffing on gas (or whatever that stuff was) was pretty damn creepy.

The King of Comedy would be the perfect way to get Scorsese into the collection. It's so underrated, that with Criterion's fanbase, they could get more people into it.

Hmm... I didn't know that was actually a real beer till I just looked it up. Never heard of it before this film.

Yeah, I believe it was some popular hip beer in the 70's-80's maybe. I'm not sure. Wasn't born yet. All I know is it isn't popular anymore, unless your a fan of Blue Velvet.

Will do

Now I'm curious why you're so excited about that movie. I'm definitely interested, but I really don't know what to make of it. What I mean by that is, I don't know what I should think is the truth, or what is some sort of performance art. Then again, it might not even matter. Guess it's something that you have to see first.

I haven`t heard any buzz on more Peckinpah, but a Criterion Alfredo Garcia would make me ecstatic.

Yeah, mostly thinking it's a mockumentary, but it could be a documentary. Will have to watch it to know.

I am excited about it, mostly due to watching his Letterman interview last year when it came on, and followed this story throughout the past year (with youtube videos of him "rapping", falling off stage, and jumping into the crowd to attack someone). Plus I am a fan of Phoenix (Two Lovers is one of my fav films of last year). Casey Affleck directed this too.

Trust me...I'd much rather see Criterion release it than Fox...but what are the chances of Fox giving them the BD rights?

Are there any Fox titles on Criterion BD currently? I know that Eureka! released both Sunrise and City Girl (both Fox titles), but these are silents and don't have the same mass appeal as The King of Comedy.
