Vishal Bhardwaj's Shakespeare adaptations are all well worth watching. I still hope the first two (the best two) make it on to blu since they are fairly recent movies (2000 onwards).

The same thing happened when I ordered Blu-rays from Amazon US with the Global Priority (to overseas) last week. Ordered them early Tuesday morning, and arrived on Wednesday in the daytime. So, it was the other way around. It usually takes 2 days to arrive, and either way it's breezing fast.

The fact that the shipping rate for the global priority is not that much more expensive than the standard shipping, I just keep using it. Don't want to wait for 2 weeks or so with the standard shipping when you know you can get your Blu-rays in 1-2 says

I don't think there is any reason to think that they'll do this.

Here is the film I was talking about. If this slipped under your radar the past couple years, now's your chance to fix that.

This one is by Mira Nair. I'd say it is my other favorite Indian art film from the recent past.

I watched The Great Beauty Last night on Hulu.

Wow...that's a freaking gorgeous film.

It might be better than La Dolce Vita.

Now I'm going to have to add it to my list of titles for July...which is a problem, as I'm already over budget with the list I have.

I thought my bank-robbing days were over.

I made a promise once to a woman I loved...never again.

But I must do what I must do.

I haven't, but I've been tempted to give it a blind buy try. Was maybe going to get it during the 40% off B&N w/ the 30 % coupon on that Saturday a few weeks ago, but they didn't have the Criterion titles I wanted.

Might pull the trigger now.. looks like Pedro likes it, too.

Indeed, just be warned it is not a feel good film by any means, the score is great you can sample it on the trailer:

Read mixed reviews on that one, though it looked interesting. It's been on my price tracker since it came out and just doesn't seem to want to break in price at all.

I just watched this last week. I would say "no" to the porn question since
[Show spoiler] I tend to think the point of porn is to try and arouse it's viewers, where as I never felt this film was trying to arouse me. The scene where he has sex with the elder geisha was certainly one of the least arousing sex scenes I've ever seen (by the way, did he kill her? I don't think they ever really clarify that)

I've never seen
[Show spoiler]oral sex
depicted like that in a mainstream film.

That ain't simulated
[Show spoiler]oral sex.

...that's the REAL THING.

Total waste of a double dip on both unless you are obsessed with the films.

Way too many Criterions that are better than those two anyway. (including 400 blows which you indicate wasn't even at the top of your list).

Hmm, I remember reading an interview with Chloe Sevigny where she implied that was actually Gallo. But you may be right.
