Gomorrah is probably the most boring Criterion blu-ray I've ever watched. Don't get the praise for that one.

Since this is the only place that has the people who would prob know about this, and we talk about off-topic Criterion anyways (but still about films):

Does anyone know any info on a U.S. dvd release of Trash Humpers? I see the UK dvd is Sept 20th on Korine's fan-site.

Yeah i mentioned that. It was boring because of the characters/Stories Development. Did you finish the movie?

A Korine fan? He makes some interesting flicks. Julien Donkey Boy is probably my favorite of his, but also enjoyed Mister Lonely.

I wouldn't say I'm a huge Korine fan, but I do like his films. I agree on Mister Lonely. Alot of his fans didn't like it much. I did.

Trash Humpers just screams awesome. I can't wait to check it out. You can even buy it on vhs.

It's weird. Paramount let Criterion add it's Criterion brand to it, while adding the big features, but it was still kind of Paramount's release or had say-so. Paramount came out with non-Criterion editions as well (mostly found with rental places).

I say the blue case is there because Paramount prob thought that people couldn't tell the difference between dvd and blu-ray without a blue case.

Wow this is a crippling, dramatic, multilayer (Onion) crime movie. In reference to the Italian mafia known as "Camorra", Gomorrah show you the ugly crippling truth behind this powerful and ruthless like mafia origination.

I've seen most of all the popular Crime/Mafia/Gangster movies such as Godfather, Scarface, Carlito's Way, Casino, Goodfellas and so fourth but rest assure the Gomorrah is on entire different level. Not saying this movie is better than these highly praised classics but its totally different in every way from these popular titles.

The beginning of the movie had me kinda confused but as it progressed i started to understand that this was a multistory movie but all based on the same principles, CRIME. This movie instantly became a suspenseful horror flick because of the random
[Show spoiler]Killings and i do mean RANDOM
. Overall this movie was a huge surprise and im glad a purchased it! I know crime/mafia movies arent for everyone but the drama in the movie itself is worth the viewing. MUST SEE

5/5
I don't think it should be that shocking that we are getting funding from crime organizations such as the Camorra, which they are even providing the funding for the Twin Towers of New York. Dammit, Bush or Obama, or virtually every President or even any power at the time, why do we need money in order to make things, other than of course to use money as an excuse to keep things under "order". If they are getting support from a Criminal organization, don't you think they are all apart of the crime syndicate all along? The U.S., China, U.N., Nations of South and north of America and Africa, Asia; A system of the wealthy pigs of the world, are working in a system to keep us dumb and poor, while they thrive. A system they intend to design by using a modern image (as they tried to do since civilization in their previous generations) to literally kill each other without them getting killed; a world of Crime without Anarchy (the most important part). The fact is why are we even supporting them?

Gomorrah is one my personal favorite Crime films, but that system is playing out in ALL civilizations, using the hostle, ignorant, stupid and violent of the poor to control the majority of the poor, promoting violence againts themselves. They can keep their control, the rest will die or suffer. I think even at it's grimest, virtually all films are quality controlled to not promote anarchy against the rich that control it, just the rich that are easy to take by themselves. Even if my family bankrupted with little money, as many people here suffering in this depressing, I'm still a pig myself and most of you that can even afford this kind of equipment and enjoy the entertainment, are what may be the pigs that starve the billions of this earth and suffer, not even wroking for a fraction of those billions working now. I admit this and not proud of that, and if you look at yourself, you know who you are.

Damn I'm getting extreme. I wanted to put up that argument about the topic which this involves.

I think alot of us rather want to follow than to lead, because leading takes initiative and many of us rather not worry about what the crowd will do next. It's a predatory instinct that affects most of us. You have to have real balls to lead and control people, which fortunatly people are more likely to follow, as long as you can convince them.

My dad taught me a thing about politics,
[Show spoiler]he raises his hand and asks me to look at it, and just at that moment, smacks me with his other hand
, that is the secret of all politics. That is what his dad taught him. Fortunately, he doesn't hit me .

BTW I'm glad you appreciate the film. I find it very difficult to watch it, which sentimentalization would eliminate the point it presents.

I did not find it boring per say, disturbing might be a better word for it but no doubt that was the intent of the movie from the get go. I did not truly find it boring even if it's not a type of movie I would enjoy. I never was much of a fan of gangster movies, one of the reasons I do not enjoy The Godfather as a example. Still Gomorrah is not a movie I would want to see again.

Has anyone ordered a replacement clear case from Criterion for one of the other titles and put the Benjamin Button artwork in it? If so, how well does it fit, or does it look weird?

Yes, people have done exactly that. I'm sure it looks terrible, though.

There has also been a user-created Benjamin Button re-sized cover to fit the Criterion replacement cases. A user in the forum created it quite some time ago and made it available for a while. I'm sure if you do some digging you could find the conversations about it.

Either way, though, you still have to put the 2nd disc in a paper sleeve or something since Criterion doesn't have a 2-disc plastic blu-ray case.

Count yourself lucky if you own the Criterion Third Man disc as the SC version is horrible.

The colors are just wrong.
