This would be an interesting Criterion debut for both Vincente Minnelli and Streisand. Seems more like a Twilight Time-esque title, though.

They also probably see it as important work in contemporary film. If they do release it, that is probably their reason to like with Boyhood.

Well, it's going to contain the different cut(s?) à la New World so I for one am happy to triple dip.

All these comments about the drawing reminds me of that Valentine's day episode from The Simpsons where all the wives thought this vague cloud-written symbol represented something specific to them from their respective husbands.

I thought I'd read some time ago that Tree Of Life was released to Malick's satisfaction. Can't really imagine it being much longer and with the exception of The New World he's not known for doing alternate cuts of his films.

The Thin Red Line in its hours long version before he cut the guts out of it would have been great, but he only approved the theatrical cut for release.

Just because I'm hoping that if I guess it, it might come true, I'm going to pretend the two birds in that picture are larks and that the clue is for the Parallax (Pair o' larks) View. It's a Paramount title, so why not?

From Paul Maher (author of One Big Soul: An Oral History of Terrence Malick) on Facebook: The Tree of Life extended is a definite... heard it from the man himself. Look for it either midsummer to fall. He told me about a sequence he is adding involving:

[Show spoiler]a 3 legged dog and young Jack and what it teaches him.

Of course some Edward G. would be great as well!!

Wouldn't trust anything from Paul Maher... he's a liar, probably stole that information from someone else knowing him, he likes to take credit from others.

Those "birds" could be flying monkeys. That makes it a clue for "Wizard of Oz."

As a Malick die hard, a 6-hour Tree of Life release would be akin to a fully restored Greed or Magnificent Ambersons. There's no telling what kind of trouble I'll get into while celebrating.
