I'm fairly certain that it wasn't a 4K restoration for the 30th anniversary, and that it was a DCP from the existing digital print (ie - the blu ray). I don't think it's out of the question that they would release it if it ever came about, though. I certainly wouldn't balk at a signed blu-sticker Criterion edition.

I'm sure Criterion *would* release it, but I can't imagine they'd ever get the license. Since David Lynch doesn't like extras, and the movie already has a bunch of extras, I don't think there would be anything new to add either, so it doesn't seem like something that needs Criterion, or that Criterion needs.

No, it's not the worst James Bond film in the whole franchise, but that's not from lack of trying. As bad as it is, it's more watchable than (in descending order) View to a Kill, Octopussy, and The Man with the Golden Gun, if for no other reason than Rosamund Pike. And I don't mean that because of her looks.

"It's as though the term hoity-toity found auditory and visual form. This jumbled mess of slapdash montage sequences is a chore to watch. All the eyerolls ever given to the "art film" over the years are unquestionably justified by this self-indulgent time waster. 2/10" |

This thread would be twice as long if not for all the deleted posts over the years. We've had lots of long time posters leave and take their posts with them.
