I imagine they'll have 4k on filmstruck eventually, but I don't see them bothering with UHD. Far too little consumer interest.

It's such great news.

I've been harping on the lack of Filipino romantic comedies in the Collection since I started posted here years ago, so this is hopefully a first step in that direction.

Is My Cactus Heart seriously a good movie? I'm not a big romantic comedy person. There's a few I love.

Oh, man, how can you look at that movie poster and not be immediately compelled to seek out My Cactus Heart?
Unless there is a shriveled dead space where your heart is supposed to be.

I think that it's a good move on Criterion's part to release some lighthearted fare this year in light of all of the seriousness and violence going on in the world.

This looks to be a great period-piece movie as well, judging from the stack of compact discs on the movie poster.

I might give it a whirl especially if Criterion is releasing it. For me romantic comedies have to be done just right in order for me to connect with them. It's hard to explain. Basically so that it can relate to both men and women equally.

I'm not a big rom-com guy either, but My Cactus Heart really clicked for me. One of the best films of the decade, and Criterion releasing it would be a dream come true.

I've never seen this or heard of it. It could possibly be something I like. But judging by the poster there is a dead space where my heart is supposed to be.

Yeah I'm much more for darker fare....even for romance films. This may be a very unpopular opinion but Leaving Las Vegas is probably the best love story ever made IMHO.

There's some lighthearted fare with love stories I can get into as well though so we'll see.

My Cactus Heart is actually my second favorite rom-com after WKW's In The Mood For Love. Great news!

I love how the colors and cinematography in both films are basically characters in their own right.

There's seems to be a lot of Akira Kurosawa's One Wonderful Sunday in My Cactus Heart as well.

Forever Young
Working Girl
When Harry Met Sally

My favorite romantic comedies, off the top of my head...

The Apartment (1960)
Sabrina (1954)
Something Wild (1986)
It Happened One Night (1934)
Roman Holiday (1953)
The Lady Eve (1941)
Smiles of a Summer Night (1955)
Say Anything (1989)
His Girl Friday (1940)
I Married a Witch (1942)

Criterion is no stranger to romantic comedies, as evidenced by this list. My Cactus Heart will fit right in, although it's a 2012 film.

Love Something Wild as well. Completely forgot to list that one. I'm not sure if I consider that more of a thriller though. It's a tough film to classify

I've been wanting to check out I Married A Witch. You know, for the beautiful Veronica Lake. I mean I'm sure the stories great too in all, I love witches doing witchy things.

Both I Married a Witch and Sullivan's Travels, both of which star Veronica Lake, are very much worth your time.
