Makes sense. Safe places are hugely popular these days.

Nice. Solid lineup all the way through. But why is Slappy and the Stinkers (1998) neglected, once again?

Here's the real list:

[Show spoiler]-Barry Lyndon
-Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me
-Vampyr
-Personal Shopper
-The Lure

The first 2 titles are good, but honestly I was expecting
[Show spoiler]Night of The Living Dead
.

Rumored to be coming next month with "Baby's Day Out", "Dunston Checks In", and "Man of the House" (the Chevy Chase/Jonathan Taylor Thomas masterpiece).

A lot of people were, and I wondered myself if it would show up, but I was very deterred by the fact that the engagement screenings would be starting that month and I couldn't see both events happening at the same time.

No Night of the Living Dead? Epic fail. Barry Lyndon, a major league win!

But Criterion might take the time to dig up more archives now with Romero's passing.

Maybe FWWM will have those missing pieces intact. That may have been what the clue was hinting at, a "full piece of meat" hopefully. A True D.C.

Does David Lynch do Director's Cuts, though? I thought he didn't do them.

This would be my guess as well, there's been talk of a hypothetical director's cut for years.

I don't think he revists old films at all. He doesn't even seem to care about getting the uncensored "Wild At Heart" released, and that is something where the shots were altered solely to get a lower rating.

Could be a supplement where its his current existing version and then we can have option for the extra scenes to be added in?

Would work nicely!

I wonder this too. I just find it hard to believe that the only new thing on this disc will be a Janus logo. That Peaks box set is barely three years old.

Esther is barely cold.

Lynch was offered the chance to do a director's cut for the Entire Mystery set and he declined.

Theoretically it's possible that the new season would push him to want to make some kind of change(s) to "Fire Walk With Me", but I wouldn't think that's likely.

Yeah, he seems pretty steadfast in his philosophies.

I guess all will be revealed in a couple of hours.

Cold Water (1994) is apparently coming to Criterion as posted on CriterionForum.org.

Quote:
More Olivier Assayas on the way: the man himself spilled the beans at a screening in Toronto of L'eau froide (Cold Water, 1994) Thursday night that the film is forthcoming from Criterion, probably in 2018. The movie has apparently had a checkered distribution history and issues with clearances for its extensive soundtrack, but it sounds like all that has finally been resolved. The screening was supposed to be of a new digital restoration but ended up being a 35mm print instead, so I'm guessing the release is still a ways off. Hope this bodes well for the rest of his early titles becoming more widely available, whether through Criterion or another label. I'm assuming Personal Shopper is in the pipeline too, so it might be a while before Criterion gets around to any of his other films.
