As for something else I'd want to see re-released, that's a tough one... maybe Amarcord or Ikiru.

I have said before I like Life Aquatic, so that would be my first Wes Anderson blu purchase. I just don't feel the need to double-dip on his movies. Like I don't "hate" him as much as I jokingly put on. I own his movies (well most). Just not one of my favs (that I would double, triple dip on). I double-dip on alot of movies (upgrade to blu mostly now), and I know what blu can do for an Anderson movie. It's just you can't make someone like something as much as to spend $30 more on something you already own that you don't LOVE alot.

For a recent example, I am still thinking if I should buy Criterion's Paths of Glory. I own the MGM dvd, but I feel I have moved on from my Kubrick fanboy days. I am waiting for the B&N sale (which is a first for me, waiting.), so I have more time to think about it.

Night of the Hunter is the flipside to that. I own the dvd, but LOVE the movie. So will be getting the blu.

An Andrei Rublev redo has been rumored for awhile now, hasn't it? I don't know if theres any credibility behind that rumor, though.

I'd like to see Life Aquatic. That's really his only film I really want on Blu not released yet.

That film is near the top of my Blu-Ray Criterion wishlist.

I haven't seen it, but more Tarkovsky on blu is fine with me. If only Kino would restore The Sacrifice, The Mirror, and Stalker. The dvds for those look utterly terrible. It's a crime those films haven't been treated better.

Also, Criterion or whoever, for the love of god put out Nostalghia.

There is alot of re-releases strongly rumored. On the last page though where I list the confirmed upcoming releases, I wrote that I left out the rumored re-releases because they haven't been confirmed by Criterion (newsletter, facebook, etc).

For me, Elevator to the Gallows
I must say Andrei Rublev would be the top for me. It could be the Seven Samurai of 2011!!

I know what you mean...there are a few of recent releases that I want to get, but will opt to wait for November sale. I only picked up Darjeeling, as the wife is a big Wes fan.

I must admit, I'm a big Kubrick fan, but Paths is such a great film, that there is no way that I can't pick this up on the release date.

Besides the blus, the only DVD I might pick up is "3 Silents"...got to see how I'm fixed for cash by that time.

I've got 2 or 3 that I'd really like to see but you wanted no runner-ups so:

Hiroshima Mon Amour would be my choice.

Any Tarkovsky film would be great and I'd love to upgrade my DVD of The Night Porter also (is that cheating?)

So anyone know anyhting about any new sales coming up? Im so in need of some criterion titles, and Im not paying over 30$ for one. I live in Norway, so the customs give me hell if the order is over 35$ total.

The Antonioni, Night Owls (just for the Q&A with the filmmaker who I've met before- the film is average at best), My Darling Clementine, Let the Right One In (I've missed it the other times c'theque has had it), Carnival of Souls, the Rivette and Scream of Fear are worth seeing, imo.

Hey Beta, do you think the C'theque will screen Jack Goes Boating in the next two months? I want to see it but Cedar is offering just one show time which usually means it's screening in the "propaganda" theatre.

I know that not everyone is a Jarmusch fan...but I wouldn't mind seeing "Night on Earth" or "Coffee and Cigarettes" or even an early film like "Down By Law".

I always figured "Down By Law" would make it in eventually since it was a selection in the old Amazon poll back when "Howards End" won and was released.
