Just signed up for the free two month B&N member trial. In order to receive it though you need to purchase something using your credit/debit card, so I just bought myself a giftcard for $10.00 which i will use during the sale and then just cancel my membership before my free trial expires! NICE!!!

If I remember reading the free trial correctly, you will only receive $50 worth of coupons if you pay for the standard membership, not the free trial. The free trial gives you the free shipping and 10% off. There are 15% off coupons out there and free shipping is over $25 and everyone know that you guys will be spending more than $25.....

I'm thinking the same thing..... I've always gone into this sale without a membership, but was considering it, but I only buy from them online since they're not too close to me...... so the physical coupons don't matter to me.... Hmmmm....

I'll probably just get the standard 50% off and be happy

This is what I was worried about (ie., Yojimbo/Sanjuro set from last sale was tough to find) which is why I picked up SS already. Tuesday can't get here soon enough.

Went ahead and ordered it now, with the 15% coupon, came out to ~$2 more than it will be during the sale, which isn't a bad deal to guarantee a copy.

The Night of the Hunter is probably one of my most anticipated films to get. I cannot wait to obtain such a work of art. Robert Mitchum is astounding.

You know, now that you mention it, I did hear that a long time ago. I assumed it was a rumor started by someone who was sick of the plastic case/cardboard slip debacle. Or maybe someone just wanted to start another discussion/argument over which was better. The picture on Criterion's facebook page confirms The Night of the Hunter as a digibook release. And it does look quite nice!

That is why I was happy a while ago about it being cardboard, because I too thought I read someone saying that it was going to be a 2-disc plastic case. But I am very happy it's not.

I did this as well and it says my free trial membership and egiftcard are scheduled to ship on November 2nd.....what?

Awesome release and it is definitely a set to get during the sale because the set is quite expensive.
