It would be great to have those in my collection.
If they ever release Lost Highway, then Hotel Room would be a great bonus, as it's an earlier collaboration between Lynch and Barry Gifford, and it is (I think) the first Lynch work to be shot by Peter Deming.

Man I would LOVE to see The Funeral released. I loved Tampopo and TCM aired The Funeral last year and I refuse to delete it off my DVR.

Although I've never seen much interest for it around here, every month I hope Criterion will upgrade Coup de torchon.

And every month I am disappointed.

Tanner 88, Fishing with John, The Golden Age of Television, Fassbinder’s Eight Hours Don’t Make a Day, World on a Wire, Berlin Alexanderplatz plus Scenes from a Marriage and Fanny and Alexander alongside their condensed theatrical version. In addition, there’s teleplays that have been included as special features (12 Angry Men, Tragedy in a Temporary Town on 12 Angry Men), and a number of TV movies including Baal, Secret Honor, The Magic Flute, After the Rehearsal, Faro Document, Bergman Island, Saraband (theatrical in the US) and some other Bergmans. In addition, many of the documentaries that have been included as supplements in the past were first presented as television broadcasts. Mulholland Drive could maybe count on a technicality considering the original workprint and the shooting in around 1998/99, before Canal+’s involvement and the release in 2001, as it was conceived and shot as a television pilot. In the Eclipse series, the Rossellini history plays were television serials. The Last Emperor is similar to Scenes and Fanny as there is also a miniseries version, included on the more extensive DVD set.

Hotel Room and On the Air are both highly underrated and I love both of them and would LOVE to see some kind of official release of both, the copies of On the Air I watched originated from Japanese VHS tapes with hardcoded subs, but it’s better than nothing.

Is there anyone who would love Criterion to do a Kubrick box set with all of his films like they did with Bergman. But give them each their own separate case like "The Before TrilogyZ" boxset style. Those paper thin cases.

I would literally shit my pants.

Of course many will like such a box. The only reason people don't talk about an idea like that is not they can't dream but it's just improbable.

Maybe they will when Yorgos Lanthimos' upcoming version hits the theaters.

How about a 4K restored version of this 1990 Luc Besson cult favorite?

Here’s a vote for both The Story of Temple Blake (best Faulkner tale ever filmed) and The Texas Chainsaw Manicure (just because).

Nah. I can think of almost a dozen films from 1990 that should be on blu and I’d rather have those over a reissue.

I love that House of Games is finally coming, but I'd love to see Homicide, too. It's also great that Spanish Prisoner is getting released next month.

The current blu-ray can use a 4K restoration and extras since the old blu is bareboned.

Criterion are always my most anticipated announcements. There’s just so much excitement around it.
I'd definitely love a CC release of Lolita.
I was thinking, with the Eyes of Orson Welles documentary coming out eventually, maybe we'll get a Mr. Arkadin upgrade this year.

Hoping Criterion gets the rights to release the newly rediscovered film Queen of Diamonds (1990), which got a restoration from the Academy Film Archive, and Film Foundation. Seems right up their alley.

Quote:
Directed by Nina Menkes | 1990
With Tinka Menkes, Emmellda J. Beech, Jeff Douglas
One of the most jarringly original independent films of the 1990s, Nina Menkes’ lost underground classic reemerges in a gorgeous new restoration. In a neon-soaked dream vision of Las Vegas, a disaffected blackjack dealer (played by the director’s sister Tinka Menkes) drifts through a series of encounters alternately mundane, surreal, and menacing, while death and violence hover ever-present in the margins. Awash in lush, hallucinatory images, Queen of Diamonds is a haunting study of female alienation that “may become for America in the 90s what Jeanne Dielman was for Europe in the 70s—a cult classic using a rigorous visual composition to penetrate the innermost recesses of the soul” (Bérénice Reynaud, Chicago Reader).

Restored by the Academy Film Archive and The Film Foundation, with funding provided by the George Lucas Family Foundation.
