What are you on about? Looking over the Police Story thread and possibly I overlooked a dismissive post or two, but the majority I'm seeing are along the lines of "this is great", "nice surprise," "hope this bodes well for [similar movies]," a well-written post lamenting the lack of appreciation for popular HK movies and action movies in general in cinephile circles, and numerous people naming many other specific movies they hope get rescued from oblivion...

So glad that Matewan is coming so soon. It's depressing how little Sayles there is on blu-ray... hope it's a big seller and leads to more.

Also in for Häxan and When We Were Kings.

Nice to finally be able to retire my Josef von Sternberg set. Amazing set for anyone interested.

The trailer for Haxan on the Criterion page looks great. I've only seen the shortened version on DVD, so very much looking forward to seeing the full version in a better presentation.

Sadly, it's sounding like the JvS set is the same masters as the DVD, so probably not much improvement there, but I'm also happy they'll be available again, though. I've heard great things about all of them.

I think that spine #1000 is either the Godzilla boxset or the Kurosawa boxset. No way they're saving the surprise until next week if it's not something big.

Nice set of titles but I think the delay hurt a bit.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I'd love a Garbo + Clarence Brown box set, with Flesh and the Devil, A Woman of Affairs, Anna Christie, and Anna Karennina. 4k is a possibility but I doubt it. It should be a multi-movie boxset to parallel

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't complain about a Garbo set! In fact, it'd be a wonderful opportunity for the likes of me who have seen just one film she starred in.

Great titles. In for all of them especially Haxan and Matewan. I will admit, a tad disappointing considering how the announcement was delayed by two nights, but still pretty happy with what October is bringing. Number 1000 is going to involve the Godzilla box set for sure.
