Hopefully another label makes a deal with Netflix too. As much as I love The Babysitter, I know Criterion wouldn’t release that.

let's hope for Buster Scruggs and Okja too...Criterion would easily be the top of the boutique labels, putting pressure on Vinegar Syndrome, Arrow, and Indicator to step up.

just kidding, but friendly competition between the labels would be fun

Shout Factory released Bojack Horseman so I guess they could work with other labels.

Simple. Lynch goes out and makes a new, full length feature film for Netflix, Criterion releases that, and then WWJD can be a supplement....

Just read the news myself and am psyched. The Irishman is going to be a great addition to the collection. https://www.indiewire.com/2020/01/ne...ry-1202205790/

Netflix is good people. Everyone I know who works there is a genuine movie nerd and agrees that physical copies are still a great thing to have. They also don’t meddle with productions in the boardroom the way traditional studios tend to do. I hope it stays that way.

Titles that I'm getting in 2020:

Already announced: Holiday, Roma, The Cranes Are Flying, and Grand Budapest Hotel

Expected to come later this year: The Irishman, Come and See, WKW boxset, The Great Escape, and Bruce Lee boxset

Hopefully announced this year: The Other Side of the Wind, The Cameraman, Amores Perros, and an upgrade of Z

Criterion really wants to set my bank account on fire.

^It seems to have already gotten lost in the shuffle that Criterion is also bringing Leave Her to Heaven back into print.

As for the Bruce Lee set, is it believed that Criterion has Enter the Dragon?

I'm just over the moon that Leave Her to Heaven is finally out of the "out of print" hell, and that I can finally retire the DVD I bought a few years ago.

I'm sure Universal will release a 4K later on first as they seem to annoyingly do sometmies

I don’t think that’s owned by Netflix. It looks like Debmar-Mercury (a subsidiary of Liobsgate) controls the rights, with Netflix only acting as the network/platform, like with House of Cards, OITNB, Fuller House, Hill House, etc.

Netflix doesn’t own the rights to it so it’s entirely possible it could be an extra on a future Lynch Criterion.

It's also seems to be the only mainstream content provider that consistently presents films in their original aspect ratios. Unlike Prime, and premium channels and pay-to-view platforms in my cable package.
