Rkish.... mine broke about 3 weeks after grinding rice to clean it out (although I've done that once year since I got it )

Either way.... consider this one "Taken to PMing"

Sorry, I didn't know this forum was for posting Approved Opinions™ only.

As for the UK Veronique you are wrong. Grain moves unnaturally, is half-frozen during still shots, and trails after every camera movement. I don't wish to be insulting, but the fact that you review movies for a site doesn't make your opinion on their technical qualities gospel, and just because I don't review movies doesn't mean I don't know what I'm talking about. If anything I would say the vast majority of reviewers are not nearly critical enough, with anything less than a huge scratch across the entire frame throughout the entire duration of the movie being a nonissue.

You're welcome (in the TJS sense). Since you already explained your views on the subject, I was just trying to add clarity for those who otherwise would've been confused.

I have this set to record, thanks to you. I spend $110 a month on cable that I never watch. Guess this is one expensive show to watch.

I bought this blind and absolutely loved it. deadkidsean is right, it is a thoughtful war film but it's also a lot more. It reminded me at various times of Seven Days in May and Stalag 17. I usually qualify blind buy recommendations (if you like fill-in-the-blah-blah-blah) but not this time.

Buy it.

Like "If you liked the mix of Kirk Douglas grit with cynical Kubrick bad-karma anti-war bite from 'Spartacus'", for example.

Picked up Modern Times and The Night of the Hunter BD today. So happy that we live in a time where a company like Criterion puts ouf films like these with royal treatments. Pure cinema bliss.

I've actually been good this month with the 50% sale, haven't truly overspent.

The Night of the Hunter
Modern Times
Paths of Glory
Antichrist

Hoping to finally pick up The Magician and Howard's End before the sale ends.
