I'm glad that ToC is reissuing this. There hasn't been a German release in the first place and until I decided to import it, it was already sold out.
I also don't understand why so many people in social media are upset about this re-release. From a business standpoint it only makes sense because so many people were asking for it. But all Day 1 buyers are upset because they don't feel special anymore. just pathetic.

Anyways hope this time I can snag a copy! Zavvi was sold out fast, HMV doesn't ship outside UK.

Best Buy has a limit of 2 usually. And if you attempt multiple orders they cancel.

And yet other sites manage to hold group buys of Best Buy US steelbooks for buyers in Europe and worldwide.

Number of copies in the dozens. Even buyers here have mentioned that they buy 3 or 4 copies of a steelbook to hopefully get an undamaged copy.

I believe you're referring to 1 or 2 specifice releases that Best Buy US put limits on. I remember those posts but I haven't seen anything like that mentioned here in a long time.

Well if you try to currently order any of the new steelbooks that are best buy exclusives the limit is 2. I looked before I posted. It applies to Hurt Locker, Moonfall, West Side Story etc. Most of those group buys in the US had sellers going to stores where they didn't impose the limits and had 20 copies or more on hand. Times have changed post covid but BB attempts to limit.

It depends on what type of account you have with Best Buy. Some accounts are not subject to the limit of 2.

All the group buys I'm familiar with place their orders from retailers during the pre-order phase and people buying from those group buys also place their orders before the release date of the steelbook.

It's impossible to walk into a Best Buy store on release day to find the 60 or 80 copies that are needed to fill your group buy. And yes those are real totals of a couple of Lionsgate Best Buy steelbook exclusives that are going to people outside of the U.S. through group buys.

And those are copies already sold. Those hosts will also have to pre-order extras due to the the usual number of damaged copies Best Buy ships.

I'm glad people discussed the coasters for a bit. I stared at that first picture for a while and was trying to figure out how/why they would make a steelbook that had a popout style thing, even if it was done like a VK machine.

THE THING already got exquisite collector sets from Turbine (BD) and Universal UK (4K), and CASINO was done right by EverythingBlu. They need to dip into fresher waters.
