my thoughts exactly.
I saw the trailer and thought "wow" but missed it in theaters (my friends are to poor to go to movies and i don't go by myself).

Nothing wrong with going to the movies by yourself, i do it all the time, haven't been to a movie with another person since i saw Wanted last summer

As For D9, I absolutley loved the movie and it will be a first day purchase for me. After seeing it I claimed it to be the best movie of the year. However, after some time to think about it and the other movies this year it's droped to number 3 behind Star Trek and Watchmen

still, it's a great movie and hopefully the bluray is crammed with interesting extras

I'll be getting Up as well. Big last few months of '09 on BD for me: North By Northwest, Transformers 2, District 9 (hopefully), Up, and Monsters, Inc.

Default Awesome Movie....

District 9 was easily the best sci-fi film of 2009, no doubts about that - makes me proud to be South African!

It is set for release here in SA on December 15 (odd, because SA releases are normally on Mon of Fri - so not going to be shocked when its actual shelf date is the 11, 14 or 18 - hopefully the 11), but I'm guessing we would get it a tad earlier than the rest of the world, seeing that it is the work of our land...but I doubt the rest of the world will have to wait long - it definately going to be out before Christmas!

I'm not banking on too many extras, because I just don't see this happening from a SA release - hope not though - I hope Sony with TriStar get in there and bring us a host of extras!

This is most definately a first day purchase for me...

It's not just you; Public Enemies was very disappointing.

Can't wait for the BD release as well. RED Cam to BD transfer should be sweet! Add that to Moon, UP, and Monsters Inc as blu-rays that MUST be bought at the end of the year.

Apparently it will be out on December 28 in the UK but no news (that I could find, at least) on the US release.
First day buy for me. Saw this movie recently and LOVED it. I was blown away.

Aint that the truth. I always have a hard time convincing my wife that the purchases of these blu-rays are a necessity as apposed to a want.

I cannot sit too close to the screen. My neck will snap!

D-9 is one of the most anticipated movies to come out of blu for me.

Can't wait!

I am not expecting the release of District 9 with great haste like so many. While the movie was good, I just don't have the feeling of watching this often enough to make it worth the purchase. It will probably look very good on BD however

Kinda surprised there still isn't a release date for the US announced yet. Hopefully it's still on track for a release around Christmas.

Looks like we'll be getting all the good movies just in time for the Holidays. Hangover, Inglorious Basterds, Up and D9.
