thanks for the caps, man.

That thing still stands as the most realistic CGI-render to date.

It kinda sucks to see that the 1080p doesn't look much different from the 720p rip I have (keep in mind, I have an LCD monitor).

This movie will still be much better looking on an HDTV, right? I mean, is there any point in me buying the movie if it's not going to look better on an actual HDTV?

Oh definitely! One thing is seeing pics on your PC LCD monitor and another is watching it full motion on a 1080p HDTV. The full 1080p BD that is. There's a lot of camera motion so it also tends to blur the image when taking the caps also. I personally see a huge difference from 1080p to 720p video. So i cant stand anything below 1080i. If you liked the look of Cloverfield which i thought was a great transfer, you won't have a problem with this one. With a lot less hand held camera shaking of course. after watching it I personally recommend it.

Thumbs down Best Buy lithograph

Hey guys...dunno if anyone pre-orderd at BestBuy to get the limited litho and dogtag they were advertising, but I sure did and it's quite a surprise!!!

I pre-ordered (just $5 at least) online...and they already sent me the exclusives. Arrived yesterday in a bubble-padded envelope about the size of a blu-ray. So I thought this must be something else.

Nope, it was the dog-tag and litho alright...and the "lithograph" is all of about 4 x 6 and that's inches folks! A 4" x 6" photo!

Not quite the Incredibles, or Revenge of the Sith lithos I got with my Rewards Zone membership in the past. Those were a good 12" x 14"!

Lesson-learned for me though...only go for exclusives in person! This was more like a practical joke to a collector like me!

The exclusive "extras" are in store too. I saw them yesterday on an endcap in the DVD section.

well there you go...I must've missed 'em!

When the flyer came out advertising them I went in-store and they thought they wouldn't be available until actual release day! I gambled w/online since I intend on actually getting a FutureShop steel for my copy of the film!

Oh well!

I saw them sitting there and thought that they looked rather small. Glad I didn't bother.

There's also a BB exclusive MNU vest slipcover.

that's kinda cool...sticking w/steelbook from Canada though I guess!
This is the kind of thing I tried to get going awhile back here:

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=61673

So we could cover all sorts of cool goodies for all movies and not search through page after page of individual titles...Oh well!

Yea i have the 720p transfer on my computer and its already a great transfer. But you wont notice the difference until you actually play the film in MOTION, theres huge differences, but i recommend to get the Blu-ray if your going to play it on your tv, because their will be a huge difference from watching it on an LCD monitor.

So in short, yes it will look better on your HDTV if you get the blu-ray (1080p) film.
