It is a good Sci-Fi but keep your thinking cap on
Yes, throw your brain out. It simply doesn't make sense logically on many points. Keeping my thinking cap on simply leads me to realize how ridiculous and unrealistic it is (a movie doesn't have to be realistic to be fun and it is a fun flick) And thinking isn't really required since they throw the themes in ones face.

I know what you mean but I think it does require some of your attention to detail. Maybe we have different views of throw your brain out films. For me it is films like Shoot Em Up, Transporter etc...

Unhappy District 9

I saw this in the theater. I thought it stunk. The story rambled on and on and was confused by numerous flashbacks. Creature effects were passable at best. The only good parts were the inter-action with vehicles/robotics. In the end, it felt to me that it was a setup for the sequel. See/buy this at your own risk.

Well I certainly wouldn't put it in the same class as Shoot Em up, Transporter and Crank, that is true.

Just saying the message is impossible to miss (which is fine). Also some elements like
[Show spoiler]having to save energy for 25 years to go to the mother ship.. then only to show that once that plan failed the mother ship could have just sucked in the little ship which could have been done without 25 years of collecting fuel... quite a few things like that...

I can attest to this. The BB near me received only 6 copies of the store exclusive (based on what was on the floor when I walked in, may account for only 1/8 of all Blu-ray copies, and there are no additional copies in the storeroom).

Went for the blind buy. Had a $5 Target coupon burning a hole in my pocket that needed to be used by 12/24. They only had 4 BD copies left on the floor when I was there about an hour ago...

I just did the same thing. Good or not good???? Probably not that good but for $14.99 at Target, I gave it a shot. If it is bad, I'll sell it.

It's a great movie, defiantly one of the best of the year
blind buy for sure but since I spent 21 dollars last week for bastards and public enemies on blu ray with my coupons, i don't know if I should spent 15 for this
then again when will it be for 15? 2 years from now....maybe

I say yes. Maybe because I blind bought it at lunch today. Call it a leap of faith. Every movie we watch is a blind viewing at some point. At least this way we have an item in hand that has monetary value we can recover if we don't like it (e.g. sell it).

Bought this today. PQ is great. AQ was fabulous; really worked out my sound system.

It was great to revisit this movie. For my money, District 9 was the best film of 2009.

Love that this was shot all digitally on the Red One cameras. I've shot some movies with it and it's truly a remarkable camera.

A director friend of mine hates digital, and says he can always tell when something was shot on digital vs. film. I can typically tell as well, but he was blown away when I told him this wasn't film.

There seems to be a lot of positive AND negative views on District 9.

It would be interesting to have a poll in regards to the ages of those who do like District 9 compared to the ages of those who don't.

Default thanks for the tip

I heard you guys yelping about the District 9 BD SE w/ vest; called BB to hold one. Looks like compact, limited edition fun. Thanks fellow forum fans for the education.
Saw Ichi looking good.

Just out of curiousity, the God of War 3 demo is the same one that came with the GoW collection correct?
