I think D9 is better the 2nd time. I saw it in the theater and just thought it was ok. Then I watched the blu-ray last night and absolutely LOVED it. Is it me or do blu-rays make the movie watching experience so much better?

I give this disc top scores on PQ and AQ too.

how do you get to the demo. It dosen't show up under games in my ps3. I rented from netflix.

I had a tough time with the first half as well. I think it really picks up in the 2nd half, but the first hour was difficult to sit through. The gf hated it and wanted to shut it off. I stuck through it. I'm glad I did because the 2nd half was well worth it IMHO.

I could be wrong, but I don't think they made it available on rental copies.

I don't get why people think the first half is slow? I think from start to finish, the film has a great pace and it just keeps moving at a greater pace towards the end.

No attention span or what???

Watched it again last night.

The whole family was over for Christmas. They loved it.
Didn't think they would get into it the way they did.

This movie is in my top 5 for the year. It's smart, well paced and the mockumentary presentation was very well done.

Can't wait till District 10!

Didn't think the first half was slow, the tonal shift just bothered me. Its almost like the first half is a comedy, and the second half is sci-fi action. Also didn't like how they kept the documentary style throughout... it worked fine when we knew they were filming, but there was no reason to keep it up after the news cameras weren't around.

Yup. Retail discs only. No rentals had teh demo.

how is the 1st half a comedy? Did you watch the same movie as the rest of us?

Not sure if this has come up yet, I scrolled back a few pages to check. There is a collector's edition of the BD available at HMV in Canada with a MNU flack jacket that covers the case. I have splurged on some collector's sets before but couldn't justify spending an extra $10 for a mini flack jacket, cool as it looks.

What model? Mine is an antique BDP-1200 and it plays fine, although it takes a while to load.

BDP-1500 here...It gets through the previews just fine...Then at the screen where you can select the human or alien picture, you can select one, and then the player seems to freeze up...How long is the load time for you? Should I let it go a while longer?

It takes a couple of seconds to load in the Sony S360, but I do not have an internet connection on it.
