You didn't miss much, lol... there's not much to it. Its cool, I liked parts of it, but, like Avatar, had pretty much seen the whole movie before in the films it copied. We'll see how Sharlto Copley does in A-Team....

I haven't seen this one on blu yet but my bro-in-law loaned me his dvd copy to watch.
One thing that I have found very annoying about the dvd version is that when watching in Dolby 5.1 the center channel seems to be mixed very low. I had to crank my sound up just to hear the dialogue, which of course made everything else too loud. Can anyone tell me if this is the case with the blu ray version? |

There is no code. You install it straight from the disc. You may be thinking of the God of War Collection, which came with a code. Good news is that you can just rent it, unless this is one of those titles that doesn't have extras in rental copies. I don't recall which studios do that off the top of my head.

I finally was able to watch my District 9 BD tonight, and it was awesome. The picture is incredible, and I don't remember it looking that crisp in theaters. The audio is one of the best I've heard. Of the 56 BDs in our family collection, this is definitely among my top 10.

I am watching a Netflix rental of D9. Not having the disc documentation, I'm confused by the initial choice that is presented after the previews. The screen shows two icons, a "Human" and an "Alien" in silhouette. What do they represent? Are they different versions of the movie? Appreciate any help.

Decent movie. The first 30 minutes were a bit drab but it picked up. The audio was excellent, the visuals were impressive, and the story line was alright. I'd give a 7.5 or 8 out of 10.

Did a search in this thread but didn't see if this was discussed. I noticed that when using Dot by Dot on my display (Pio Kuro Pro-151FD), the subtitles gets chopped when the aliens speak. It only shows when I switch it to 4:3 but the aspect is all squashed and you get side bars. I'm running this on an Oppo BDP-83 using the latest f/w (beta).
Thanks in advance. |
