I'm giving it a 8.9/10. I saw it in theaters first and now I'm waiting for the blu ray. It was much better (and different) than how the trailers portrayed it. The documentary beginning/ending were really unexpected and a nice touch.

Just finished watching it and thought it was a focking amazing movie!

Bit wierd at first but clever. I went from thinking " just shoot the nasty creatures" to "C'mon the Prawns!"

I give it 9.5/10

Will be watching this in just a couple of minutes. I have heard quite a bit about this film, but I hope it doesn't fall short of it. Everyone says it's great, but you never know. I also heard it is amazing on blu ray. So I hope that holds up to.

The nominations are to be announced feb 10....and with the academys stupid decision to go to 10 nominees for best picture odds are Both will get a nomination. Any other year, neither of them would have a chance.

I watched it for the second time last night. Overall it's pretty good. The beginning is a bit slow but there's a lot of explaining to do. I'm up for a sequel!

I don't think so. As much as I love District 9, it won't get nominated for Best Picture. I do think Avatar will though.

Default Bought District 9 and need the PS3 Code

Hello,

I bought the Steelbook edition of District 9 but my copy didn't have the activation code for the God Of War 3 demo. Wondering if anyone has an activation code that they arent using and would be willing to give me. My email is kevintj@gmail.com.

Thanks

Finally found a copy of the Best Buy Exclusive in a store today. Their online inventory said it wasn't in stock, but there was one on the shelf. Still debating whether to keep it or not. I really would rather have the SteelBook.

Oh God please tell me you are kidding. I just watched it the other day and it is by far the worst movie I think I have ever seen. It was nothing what I thought it would be. I can't believe Peter Jackson put his name on this film. Oh well we all make mistakes. And now everyone will call me crazy or stupid and say I didn't get the film. Sorry to the fanboys but the movie sucked. To each their own.

Of course you're entitled to voice your own opinion. Each individual person has different tastes/preferences. If someone said otherwise I would stand by your side even though our verdict of D9 differs.
Everyone's opinon should be respected as long as it's reasonable.

I really dont understand what some peoples problem with this film is. I think that it is not a normal run of the mill Hollywood film and that maybe uncomfortable for some people to see something different. Because District 9 is definetly different. Is variety the spice of bad?

More people would be gushing over it if it had more explosions, Megan Fox, was made by a former MTV music video director and featured a soundtrack by Nickleback, Seether or whatever pop rock crap people listen to these days.

There is no activation code. If you place the District 9 disc into the PS3, go to the GAME icon of the XMB and the demo can be installed directly from there. Your PS3 could not even have access to the internet (wired or wireless) and you could install the God Of War III demo.

I've seen all films that could possibly be nominated for best picture this year, and District 9 is in my top 3 for the award. It's certainly far more worthy than AVATAR. You probably thought that AVATAR was the best thing since sliced bread?

You nailed it. I loved D9, but the thought of even seeing avatar bores me. As said before. To each his own. This is a great movie community, even if we dont see eye to eye on all films.

Exactly. Thats what I thought. I would say that any given day D9 is better than Avatar. Just the eye candy thing did not work for me in Avatar. I loved watching D9 even the third time for its intricate details and excellent screenplay whereas I was bored watching Avatar the second time. Maybe ill fall in love with Avatar when I check that out again on Blu

I just watched the BD last night. Amazing disc in all areas.

I liked the film, but found the ending flat. Had I liked the ending better, I think I would be gushing about the film more. Still, a good movie.
