![]() oh well, just another anonymous tuxedo-clad Academy award winner, with a rather *energetic* sense of humor, especially when onstage. For the sake of those who weren’t there for that fabled Scientific and Technical Academy award presentation that Saturday, to give y’all an idea, the acceptance speech started like this.….”It’s an honor to be here competing at this year’s annual Olympics for Geeks, uh, we are….***** Riot in drag”. Depending on your point of view, the speech went uphill ![]() Last edited by Penton-Man; 09-07-2015 at 10:53 PM. Reason: added a word for clarity |

It appears that the three of the four non-3D titles I was considering buying this year had 2K DI, but I may consider holding off anyway. I'll think about it. |

This is about as close as you are going to get to a review of the CZ950 for a while. (probably November 2015)
https://www.avforums.com/review/pana...d-review.11860 Also from Hinton regarding the 3D LUT in the CZ950: "Once you start removing brightness/luminance the colours get darker (less saturated) and the triangle would actually start to reduce and the points twist if you were to measure the effect in 3D real time as you reduced them. The LUTs make sure that when this happens the colours are hitting the correct points as luminance is removed. This requires a lot of processing power and Panasonic are the first to make sure this is implemented correctly (and to market the fact). https://www.avforums.com/threads/pan...#post-22559157 If the CZ950 lives up to the marketing promises and the content creators give us those deep blacks and highlights that Sowa says they will; and if OLED prices approach price parity with LCDs as Panasonic predicts will happen in two to three years, will there be anyone on this forum who dares to profess themselves a videophile not have a 4K OLED in their signature, say by 2018? ![]() |

Have you looked at any of the UHD stuff on YouTube? Some of it is quite amazing. The Sony PXWZ100 can produce pictures that are quite striking. I am use to HD cameras that had viewfinders that cost way more than the PXW camera system. I capture the YouTube videos on a portable HDD then play them back with a Sony FMP-X10 and VW600 projector. |

That’s ^ it? Geez guys, if this is your idea of keeping it ‘warm’, I’d hate to see what you consider frigid. Although, I guess the upside for me is not much catch-up needed hereabouts in this thread.

To that ^ end I suspect y’all will really enjoy the ultra Panavision road show Christmas release of Quentin’s upcoming western if you can get to a participating theater. Hollywood locals should have their Navi GPS eyes set on the Cinerama Dome to watch that cold country western movie.
