I didn't take any pics of them, sorry. But the doc said it'd healed very nicely and he couldn't even see the joins any more, though due to the hairline fracture right thru my ankle I'll probably get some arthritis in years to come.

Join the Club. Playing that game noted on the last page, bilateral ACL tears in both knees, along with an MCL tear to boot in the right.... when I have more time, I'll post the x-ray of my right to make you feel better.

Tell Mike to wake up as Ray is challenging him on another thread.

mike, go easy on ray, for thru his devoted fanboyism, he encourages others to purchase 4K/UHD TVs, which, for me , means…..Robert (Zohn) sells more TVs -> Robert retires and moves back to southern California -> I have another buddy to reminisce with while fishin on the dock on the bay when I get too old and brittle to play soccer or ride/pedal 2-wheeled off road machines. Plus, be kind, because ray’s playing catch-up with HDR.

ray, this ray, not our ray from Irvine…. bookmark and study!, as mike has already learned this material many months ago, specifically…. dateline 2/27/2015

As well as, with a little gentle encouragement

Having also retained the updates/additions to the CineAlta article

Little Crushes (Male stluczki) 5K DI

http://www.fixafilm.pl/en/news/98/(March2014)
Quote:
Fixafilm is a first company in Poland and one of the first in the world, which completed a full DI of a feature movie using ACES in 5K resolution.

The ACES system has been created by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Science technology committee in order to achieve a more accurate color pipeline, regardless which camera you are using.

We created the DCP master in the highest quality for digital cinema - 4K 12 bit.

Fixafilm got engaged in the production last year; starting with on-set DIT station, which covered data verification, pre-grade, backups, archiving and transcoding the files for editing. After the editing we started our typical DI work - colour grading (done by our amazing colorist - Gosia Grzyb), grain management (denoising and regraining with natural grain), VFX and delivering the masters. All of which was done in 5K resolution on 16-bit EXR files!

Underdog (4K DI)

eriaur , don’t mind Adrian. He’d much prefer pages and pages of strictly on topic inaccuracies by people speaking above their expertise (leading to endless *debates*) and anecdotal opinions…. rather than an occasional social aside.

Different strokes for different folks. You should have seen what happened here after I wished everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.

Yo Adrian, we won’t ask you about a way to increase sharpness in individuals with retinal implants as that’s truly cutting edge (just this month published in a peer reviewed journal, not some consumer/hobbyist magazine peer reviewed by other AV writers who can no longer cut it in the real world as engineers)…..but…..

since this thread is heavily biased toward spatial resolution, i.e. ‘4K Movies’ how ‘bout something more basic like enlightening us all as to how many K’s thee eye is capable of seeing?.....with explanation.

Pertinence to topic? Are 4K movies *future-proof* enough given the capacity of our HVS?

mike !!!!!!!!!!! don’t read the 4th paragraph of eriaur’s fine ^ find, as I fear for your blood pressure (i.e. grain “management”)….. although…. this could represent an opportunistic segue into discussing advanced regraining techniques using more than one grain sample to mitigate any asymmetrical vignetting.

eriaur, a somewhat amusing aside to the link is the bit about using ACES when RED (the acquisition device for Little Crushes) has a long history of not being ACES friendly.

Looks like at least one Red user has ignored RED’s in house color scientist.

I thought that as well, not so much about Mike but the mere mention of "regraining" is enough to send some folks on here into a frenzy.

Geez, didn’t anyone read the back-and-forth tweets from Dec. 17, which I purposely included as a hint for things to come.

Here, wait a minute, I’ll make it Carolyn clearer….

addendum:
Sorry eriaur, now scrolling up I see you did link the article, I had missed it in my haste and only noticed the YouTube link.

Good job.

Contrast and compare Star Wars 7 IMAX 3D and Dolby Cinema. The 25 comments at the end are worth reading. Next to the last is an eye opener!
