Best Buy has changed the release date for all Fox titles to 'Not Announced'. I suppose that means they are already released. Maybe even available at the stores.

Do they have a dedicated Ultra HD Blu-ray and 4K forum over there, like we do here? I’m trying to gauge the popularity of UHD BD over there, as compared to over here.

But it’s looking to me that Virtual Reality will be pushed with a hard sell first. For those people who don’t think much of VR, it does have merits for investigating clinical

Actually just got an email notification that the release date (for all Fox films) has changed to Sunday 2/14 and now my orders will arrive around 2/15.

There is a post over at AVS with someone saying that his local Best Buy store told him they will have 4K UHD titles in stock on Thursday.

They do NOT, and their forums are quite confusing to navigate to the right areas.

Well they should remedy that (and institute a dedicated Ultra HD Blu-ray and 4K forum). My vote goes to Amir as the moderator of said forum. I think it was Kris or PeterTHX who previously mentioned a while back that Amir gave a class on UHD at Cedia 2015, so wouldn't he be the perfect fit?

Note to Richard, BBC’s summary on HLG HDR by Andrew and Matteo (look for WOO37 Version 3) for the upcoming San Diego meeting was just approved by the Chair.

There’s a good explanation of the slide deck with regards to the topic of the difference between scene-referred (hybrid-log gamma) and display-referred (SMPTE ST 2084) systems. The report of HDR/WCG CE 7 on investigating the visual quality of HLG generated HDR and SDR video is still pending. No questions please

. Just observations if you so feel compelled.

Like some others, here, I'm pre-ordering some media as a future-proofing test-of-concept and show of format support, while still having not decided on a player or having upgraded my display. (Hoping to eventually dip into some of that HDR goodness, perhaps, as prices come down.)

Would love some more, older, catalog titles, but understand why they may not risk it, going for more recent titles, ready in the pipe-line. Oh, well.
