.........No. I didn't say that. Don't put words in my mouth.

8 years ago was my first entry into HT. That's the excitement i'm talking about. Everything felt new to me. New TV, New HT, completely new format and HDTV signal that everybody changed over to. It was literally a transformative experience. You can't sit here and tell me UHD is the same. Not being there day one for UHD isn't like not being there in the beginning for HD.

Jeez.

EDIT-

And for the record, i will be supporting 4KBD. No point in being in this hobby if i wasn't. Just because i have strong opinions about certain things with it doesn't mean i have some kind of agenda. As i'm very sure some of you think.

Medical advice? What isn't this thread useful for? I'm not much of a drinker anyway Spike, and lately I can't even have so much as a sip without feeling it the next day (I'm not exaggerating) so I'm steering clear of the sauce for now.

And sap, if you couldn't tell already I LOVE all this techy shit and I'm dead jealous of everyone being able to play with it! You can :rickah: at me all you want, but I'd love to be hip deep in UHD discs and players right now.

Yes i got that from you and that would make sense why you feel that way. I wasn't making fun at all just so you know.

I love everything HT related too. You're talking about someone who plans to buy a 4K player without owning a 4K TV.

One step at a time......

There must be a *most drinkin college* list somwhere posted on the internet. I’m wondering how yours and mine fared. Not so much concerned about the liver as that can take a lot of abuse and still regenerate, but all dem brain cells needlessly lost forever.

I'm from a party school town (where Animal House was filmed, no less), but I no longer live there. Visits are fun, though.

Either way, I'll continue making up for Geoff's abstinence where-ever I am...

Roadshow cut of Hateful 8 on UHD Blu would be a winner winner chicken dinner in my book.

Yup, though I must say I found The Revenant the more jaw dropping experience in terms of picture quality. I'm sure the 70mm answer print looks fantastic, but the projected image I saw (I went to a roadshow presentation) just reminded me how much I love digital projection (better contrast, resolution, and no wear and tear).

I haven't seen either of them mate, but given that Revenant had a fair bit taken on the Alexa 65 I'm not surprised that it looked so delish. Both on UHD Blu, please. It's that sort of large format stuff that I'd buy a player for.

I'm with you there. And I also feel it must be said that Monsieurs Tarantino and Richardson did not take the greatest advantage of the Ultra Panavision 70 format on this outing, as regards subject matter.

That might be the first UHD release to get my personal stamp of approval. Next stop: a movie I actually care about.

Ok, studios/distributors- the race is on!

Which will appear on UHD first...

a new movie I care about that should have HDR and does

or

a catalog movie I care about that shouldn't have HDR, but does?

I know where I'm placing my bet!

Default Got this delivered today.

Have not opened yet, but interesting that this comes with a cardboard slip that covers the bottom portion of the case. This was the only Sony title I wanted; hope to find some Warner titles this weekend if possible!

A fair bit being "about 13%" according to Lubezki. Only part that really stood out to me in the theater was the ending.
