Is the regular Blu-ray required to be included in every UHD disc sold (like with 3D), or is it optional?

From the look of the covers of the French Sony releases, they come with the UHD disc only. I really hope this will not be the standard.

It's not mandatory, no. So given time the studios may start to leave them out (especially if 100GB makes it to mass market, e.g. it'll have enough space for extras to be included) but then again, some of the studios in the US are still including DVD copies in their combo packs so I don't think we'll have to worry about the regular BD being left out for a while yet, not in the US anyway.

I hope not, I have a half-dozen plus BD capable devices, not to mention relatives and all, that I would still like to play a movie I purchase on...a single purchase.

In Europe things might pan out a little differently if The 5th Wave is an indication (though the launch titles from Sony certainly seem to have the BDs included, due for end of May) but I think the US will be fine re: the BD pack-ins.

Here at my place - Poland
is very bad situation

When You West countries have for example a movie where one disc is 3D, second 2D and DVD with bonus we only have the two first discs.

When the release have 2D blu ray and digital copy and ultraviolet and so on we only have 2D blu-ray disc

Many of us tech freaks would like to have now the new 4K blu ray discs. But situation is worse here than hell. All polish distributors have one, the same answer for all questions regarding 4K Ultra HD Bluray discs: "We don't know. We don't have any information. Probably not so soon" read inside the lines - probably never.
But You walk in any store like Media Markt, Saturn or any electronics shop and every salesman come to You very quickly and starts his speech and mind tricks to try sell You a new shiny 4K TV. Of course we don't have any 4K native content - You only can watch few so called 4K clips and videos from You tube and demos in the shop - but that's all for now and near future.
The masses buy DVDs, few (like me) buys the blu-rays and the rest is paying big money to Sat or Cable pay Tvs operators for a very compressed content.
The rest ....well they are on the dark side

I - well 10 maybe 14 years ago I had a very large collection of VHS tapes. I still can watch them anytime I want but its a suicide on 40" Full HD Sony TV. I skipped the DVD's I have now them less than my growing bluray discs collection (which still grows)

Maybe like in the recent past - I started HD era in my home in 2008 or 9. Unfortunately I bought in supermarket from the shelf used Sony BDP-S300 for a price of a much better then recent model. I have learned my lesson. After few years the player has broked and I bought used but like new Pioneer BDP-LX52 EU (then from few years i was a member of this forum and i had a much bigger knowledge and experience)
And finally recently I also bought used but in very good condition Panasonic DMP-BDT500 (family wanted 3D and we have few discs so i jumped in)

Now i will stil watch the near future and read this marvelous forum (and its users) And someday I will jump to 4K ride.
As Marty McFly said: Someday Jennifer, someday...
Of course i have my 2 candidates brands and i will hold to them like i holding to my life

As of the time of this posting, although not listed in the imdb Tech specs, for the sake of completeness, the F55 was used to capture the majority of the first unit work for The Unwilling ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4781446/...ef_=tt_dt_spec ), whereas the F65 was used for low light conditions, VFX work and some HFR capture. The FS7 in 4K was used for some shots mostly involving camera movement, ergo mounted on a camera stabilizer (Gimbal).

Difficult for me to reference after yesterday’s real life tribute in San Diego (and especially thinking about his wife and Charlie's just getting married prior to his deployment to Iraq) and for all those watching all over the states – https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...e#post12211272

but the official teaser trailer is now up for....

Looks excellent. Can you remind us of the tech specs? Is being filmed in 4k and with high frame rate too?
