Queen of the Desert (2015) - 4K DCP

Already out on Blu-ray in some countries. But now gets a regular theatrical release in the USA.

Video also in 4K quality.

The Toshiba ZL2 does 4K, but because it's screen is 55" you'd need to sit 5' from the screen to notice a difference and 3' to get the full benefit. Unless you want to put this monitor in your hall, prepare to move your chair WAY up, I mean WTFU.

The How-To Geek Guide to 3D Monitors and TVs
My eyes are not the greatest (I'm 68 this month) but I don't agree with this chart. I can clearly see the difference in 1080p vs 720p at my watching distance of 10-12 ft for a 65" TV. Can even see the difference when I am further back (my breakfast nook is 20 ft away).

However I must admit its hard to see the difference for UHD at this distance. More obvious is the effect of HDR and HFR (Billy Lynn).

Chart is bunk anyway.

Doesn't say anything about color fidelity, assumes every display has the same performance, scaling, etc.

I have a 55 inch LG OLED and according to that chart I need to be sitting 3 feet away from the screen whilst viewing 4k content?!

It only allows you to sit even 5 feet away if you get an 80 inch screen!! That can't be right..

The newest full trailer for Transformers: The Last Knight is now available to stream in 4k on YouTube, and to download 4k at Vimeo. This would be the very first full trailer in 4k officially released online from a major studio (since the Superbowl spots were short trailers).

It better have a 4k master for all the work they've gone through for these 4k trailers.

Man, I have got to watch Gangs of New York again one of these days. I bought the remastered Blu just as soon as it came out but it's still sitting there in its shrink wrap.

For those lurkers not connecting the dots above, Michael Ballhaus departed us, Tuesday evening, in Berlin after a short illness.

In essence, the chart somewhat underestimates the capability of the total acuity of the human visual system. For a summary (by those with formal training in the subject of vision…yielding doctorate degrees), see the following links for peer reviewed VA information…

While on the topic of vision and acuity and connecting the dots to Michael……
"Ballhaus tells of the tragedy of slowly going blind, (...)” due to glaucoma……
https://service.randomhouse.de/book/...9964.rhd?pub=1

Folks, might I humbly suggest if there is only one takeaway you get from this entire 4+ million viewed thread is to not take your vision for granted, wear eye protection during sporting activities such as bicycle riding, go for regular, routine eye exams even if you feel you have great vision….if not only to forever enjoy your UHD/4K Blu-rays to their fullest potential, but more importantly to do all you can to help maintain/protect your current quality of life as it relates to the sense of vision. There are forms of glaucoma that affect the young too (ex. pigmentary) which are completely asymptomatic until you’ve breached the retinal ganglion cell threshold resulting in irreversible (permanent) visual acuity degradation.

So, the Cliff Notes version as to one reason why ‘the chart’ is inaccurate is that even though there is a limit to resolution that the eye can see primarily because of the anatomy of the retina (specifically the spacing and size of the photoreceptors as pictured in one of the links above), the brain is capable of interpreting some forms to a much greater spatial resolution due to the post processing in the visual cortex which can actually be better than what the eye is anatomically capable of.
