Wonder Woman 1984 (2020) had 4K trailers before and now the 4K finish is confirmed as well.

How many percent of movies made now will be released in 4k UHD Blu Ray?.
Just got 4k tv and player but it seems that still many movies are only HD Blu Ray? |

I feel as disillusioned as you clearly do, but then with most people still not realising there is anything better than DVD quality, and producers and stores and on line stores not making any effort in pricing to encourage people to buy Blu Ray let alone 4k, I sometimes feel we are fighting a losing battle, and no doubt technicians often wonder why they bothered!

Filling the back catalog is very slow and many of those many never be 4K, but there have been several classics released as well. I'm not sure if it will ever be equal to HD though. Chris |

Sorry for side track, but what is the best way to get notified with a new 4k Movie is available for purchase/pre-order outside of watching this thread? I typically look at the 4k movie release calendar from time to time, but it'd be nice to get an RSS feed or email subscription to sift through existing releases.
Thank you! Last edited by stromb0li; 01-08-2021 at 02:51 PM. |

Honestly the best way seems to be that you should monitor this subforum once a week or so. Once something is announced there will be a thread and probably pre-order info. Usually what I do is if I see something on a new thread here and I’m interested I’ll throw it on my Amazon wishlist and/or preorder if possible.

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Scott...lu-ray/269844/ (see the green box titled "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World 4K Pre-order") The way to get to this kind of page: Go to the blu-ray dot com home page and search for the film "Scott Pilgrim vs the World", go to "Releases" below the big banner (not "Release Calendar" above the banner), click the release you're interested in (the single 4K in this example), see the green box for signing for the notification. IF there is no green box, that means a release date has been set, which will be listed just under the title at the top of this page (which currently states "No Release Date" for this example). Watch the following forum section for creation of new threads, which get created when there's a new announcement, rumor, or wish list. Go to the following page, select "Forum Tools" on the line that starts with "Threads in Forum" and select "Subscribe to this forum" (there's one more okay button after this). There's no discussions here, you just get a daily email with a list of new forums created (if any), which you can decide to follow or ignore. https://forum.blu-ray.com/forumdisplay.php?f=203 A good way to know what's released each week: go to the home page for this site (blu-ray dot com) and scroll down the left side looking for a link that says "This Week on Blu-ray: <month, day range>", click through for all the new stuff. This page gets updated each Sunday or Monday (I forget which). Chris Last edited by NotASpeckOfCereal; 01-09-2021 at 03:26 PM. |

Everyone who works on a film is paid well before a film is even finished in post. And if piracy makes any kind of dent in the bottom line (which would be super marginal at best) they would not be using day and date releasing on HBO Max, which is most certainly going to get pirated the minute they air. The idea that crew behind the scenes get hurt by piracy is a complete myth. By the time the sets are struck, the entire crew has been paid. |
