This is quite a milestone as I recall a year ago when the viewership was a mere pittance of that 200,000 amount. I would formally like to thank the entire administration of Blu-ray.com was empowering *the 4K movement* despite the fact that there is no 4K Blu-ray format (yet). Also, a big thanks to Steed, Tob, Sap, Anthony, Geoff, etc. and to all the anonymous lurkers both non-industry and industry-affiliated for following everything directly, indirectly and totally unrelated to 4K.

Thanks for the mention sir, but I'm a relative newcomer to these threads, as is my team in the Premier League. COYP!

Yep, we are very worried up here. Especially with our coming home games.

Extra's must be on a other disc. Last but not least you need a NEW Blu-ray player to play these discs

Don't hold me up for this cause I translated it from Dutch tech site and they have app where it was on so if it's wrong tell me!
Unless I’m rattlesnake bit and going into delirium, the BDA has made no such announcement. I would prefer not to comment on any particular disc manufacturer or number of layers. I can relate to you though that 100GB is not really cramped for an optimized advanced compression scheme like HEVC used for encoding '4K rez'….which eventually (codec-wise) is where we’re ultimately headed. 50GB would be cramped.

I’ll tell you what is really mastering and encoded ‘cramped’ though, is putting 2001: A Space Odyssey http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0062622/...ef_=tt_dt_spec onto DCP deliverables of only ~ 75 GB, given that D-Cinema uses XYZ color space, 12 bits per component and is intended to be projected on BIG (commercial theater-sized) screens. And that’s what happened with that title.

Because of your individual presence , I’ve actually been following your team a little too, for previously, I was fairly ignorant of Crystal Palace. I’ve noticed that tomorrow you guys have a hard roe to hoe (https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...ed#post8066622 )

Good luck.

No, but I always wince inwardly when someone says "our team won" or "my team this" like they did something when all they do is watch them on TV. Whitney Cummings (like or hate her TV show, her stand-up is pretty good) has a funny bit on this.

For me soccer is fun to play, but on the same level as watching paint dry, grass grow, etc. as far as a spectator sport goes. "0-0! What a great game!" Before you think I'm all about scoring, basketball for me is the same way, for opposite reasons. That, and the squeaky sneaker noise is as annoying as an crowd full of vuvuzelas.

Singulus tests 100GB, 4K-ready Blu-ray discs

Quote:
The Blu-ray Disc Association has teased that a 4K-friendly disc format is coming, but Singulus isn't willing to wait to make some announcements of its own. The German company just finished production tests of a Blu-ray disc that squeezes 100GB into three layers, making it "ideal" for 4K movies. Sounds good, doesn't it? Unfortunately, the company hasn't said much more about the technology -- we don't know if the discs have the BDA's support, whether they're compatible with existing players, or when they enter mass production. We've reached out for more details; in the meantime, we'd advise saving up for the exotic TV you'll need to watch 4K movies in any format.

Are you aware I have had a season ticket for the last fifteen years? I watch my team live. It is part of my life. My weekend involves me going to football with my family.

I don't see the point in you commenting on something you hate dude. I also don't see the point in trying to explain my love of football. If you don't get it, you don't get it. We move on.

You're not going to get violent like a typical soccer hooligan, I mean fan now are you?

If you're going off topic (4K movies and all) then be prepared to take a dissenting opinion. Welcome to the Internet.

Yes, because all of the 40,000 crowd today are troublemakers. That's why you see woman and children smiling and having a good time (if we win)

Oh, and if you only ever see 0-0 draws you obviously haven't been watching Sunderland!

On topic: I love 4k bluray
Off topic: I love football.
On and off topic. I love 4k and Brazilian football fans of the female variety.
