(kidding of course, I've never driven anywhere with my son in my car because I don't have a back-seat..... rarely have the doors on in the spring/summer/fall and don't have relocator brackets for mirrors.... plus no front-license plate because it's a b.s. law..... )

Man the thread I hijacked got hijacked I will better use the search feature...and look at the threads I have posted in in the future.

As for the American debate, look at resale or trade in value of foreign cars to domestic cars. We all know that 99% of the time our cars will LOSE it's value. It is the worst "investment" we all make( it's pretty much known you will lose on it in the long run). I know I am going to get a new car in the future, thats just the way I am. I would rather lose, say 50% than 80%( its a car thing and does not relate to how I invest the rest of my money). American cars just do not hold their value. As for the quality issues, I will agree that it has gotten better, but if it did not then they would have been out of business altogether by now. As for the workers that got laid off from the American car plant, wouldn't that be offset by getting a job at the import plant. I mean a job is a job. If you are getting paid then does it really matter. I would rather work at a foreign job that had good remarks and made money than a domestic one that was laying off workers and having hard times.
How many jobs have American companies moved to other countries? ALOT. The US automaker may be getting the profits but the average US citizen is not making a living.
If these American car companies really cared about Americans, then ALL jobs would be in the US.

A black 1997 Jeep Gran Cheroke L. It has got 156,000 on it as of July, 2009. I am going to have to replace it some time soon. Perhaps I will get a smart car w/standard trans, as I am usually the only one driving it. A driver only in a SUV is not going to fly in a world of dwindling supplies of gas.
