The 200hp 2.0 is a hoot and makes fantastic noises, but it's only half the fun. The DSG is even better with shifts in 4ms (as I recall) and it double-clutches (yes, you heard that right!) on the downshifts.

I have a 1990 silverado I swapped a crate LS6 that's in the '04 back ZO6 'vettes
into. Runs high 12's in the 1/4, so yeah, it gets the job done. Had an '04 GTO that
ran low 13's stock, but I sold it when I started building the truck.

DSG is great. Until it breaks. 2 wet clutches + all sorts of other geewhiz crap in there = FORTUNE for repairs. I've heard reports of $400-$500 fluid flushes! As for it's technical superiority. Sure I'll give it that and I would own one but only for as long as the waranty is good on it.

For the record, it is capable of a 6 -> 5 -> 4 -> 3 -> 2 downshift in 3/10's of a second, which is obsurd fast.
