Paramount, Warner and Disney on the other hand...

Since other studios notice these polls maybe they will take notice, I'm sure other people will prefer to have both cuts when possible.

Option 1: Both cuts seamlessly branched.
Option 2: Theatrical cut only.
Option 3: Unrated/Extended Cut only
Option 4: Both versions, 1 on each disc.
That is currently decided on a case by case basis and the results of a poll to determine an overall/generalized policy to apply to all titles would be of little interest to most studios/content providers.

Plus, speak for yourself, as give me “the unrated form” of The Girl Next Door in zee best video and audio quality and that is all I’m interested in………..

P.S.
Jeff, I’m wondering how long the above clip lasts on YouTube before it gets pulled for being in violation of copyright, as we know my colleagues from Fox regularly read this thread.

A Special Thanks to Penton,
Interesting…….screeeeeeeching subway cars in DTS-HD Master Audio.
Might that not be troublesome for apartment dwellers in regards to potential complaints from their neighbors ?

Knowing's plane crash should have already made the neighbors deaf anyway

And knowing Fox, termination has already begun One place they should concentrate their anti-piracy efforts, instead of the places they have been recently is all of those distributors that supply the guys in East Asia with product 3-4 weeks before street. Typically a hot title like Wolverine is for sale there within 48 hours of the discs leaving the warehouse. Easy pickings for the cracker network and other unscrupulous types. Fox has every right to protect their intellectual property , and starting with the international grey market's supply to pirates is a great place to begin

Well, when possible like Sony, Fox & Universal does.

Paramount is probably the worst though when it comes to getting the original cut.

I take it your situation is something like being the guy on the left side the wall….rather than the right?

I’m thinking that you, Eternal Sunshine, etc. should be singing this song right about now ….
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQaHBvZ3r8w

as we’re planning on moving forward with Option #1 pending positive feedback from industry associates in all regions…..i.e. as long as they don’t foresee any technical problems with the implementation of all subtitles inside the active picture all the time.

P.S.
Deci, please keep the subtitle poll thread open for the same applicable reasoning I listed here, paragraph 3……

Yay! Nice news, Penton. Glad to see this get one step closer to 'standard'.

I'd still prefer a movable/switchable option, but I'm not gonna complain!

Thanks you very much Penton.

You have given leadership to make a landmark decision on subtitle placement to achieve universal content compatibility with all displays until the eternity.

This will go to the history books.

I should thank all members including Josh Z and Eternal S for supporting the industry (Sony et al.) to make this well and truly landmark decision.

What exactly did Josh Z have to do with it. The vote was
already heavily favored for Option #1 before he entered the
fray.

Will the subtitles be reduced in size to the same size relative to active picture area as they are in a cinema?

Thumbs up Penton strikes again.

Thanks again Penton-man for dealing with another issue.

Now we can focus more on how to get annoying people yelling into their phones and the stickiest floor in our home theatre in order to reproduce the magic of cinema

My pain and suffering are unbearable. I am a man without hope, left in the dark, alone, to wonder his fate. Ohhhh the sadness.

Penton, I'm ecstatic and need to thank you once again for going way beyond any call of duty by setting up this poll!

It's such a rare and beautiful thing for "the industry" in general and especially a giant corporation like SPHE to give their customers a chance to be heard – and really make a difference!

I also have to thank all those who voted for "option 1" – especially those who do not (yet) have a CIH setup! I have never felt so BLU (as in: a happy Blu-ray camper) since the end of the format war...

P.S. I can't access your Youtube-link for "copyright reasons", but I have a feeling it's this song you're talking about:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1yUJx1zGeI

Because that's exactly how I feel!

Would it be possible for all studios to implement a resume feature on all Blu-ray discs?
