Well, I don’t know what you’re talking about regarding "studios" as I was speaking previously about monies in the pipeline for product in the pipeline (deadmeat) from a Department of Agriculture point of view. Isn’t that what everyone here was referring to?

Just to be clear to all J.D.s that are reading this thread.

If we are clearly referring to cattle going to the slaughter house ending up as deadmeat, I may consider how to carefully answer your question at a later time......as this whole discussion is getting a bit sticky for me.

A P man reference that doesn't require an Enigma machine to decode.
Sly boots that one.

I have to pay for mine prior to shipment. I've sometimes ordered the never frozen. This vendor is godly when I'm planning those small celebrations with people who can enjoy quality.

wow, this gets interesting. So assume the lawyers make the determination that the pay-off would have to be refunded either in part or full; Para***** would then have an interesting decision to make: stick it out with a dead format for the duration of the deal to keep the entire $150M, or take the hit and start distributing Transformers, etc.

Being a finance guy, I'm intrigued by that business case. (Never thought I'd be rooting for Paramount lawyers, but hope they can switch to blu and keep their payout so we can be done with this silliness)

We are talking about cattle here, not Paramount. Whatever is going on with that will settle all in good time. Penton and the rest of the insiders are not able to talk about anything in regards to Paramount right now.

I agree. I'm reading this as Vendor 'A' signed a deal for 'x' amount of cattle. Slaughterhouse in question received dead cows 7 months into that deal. Now the slaughterhouse wants to get cattle from vendor 'b' but the dispute is over who breached the contract first before they can move forward.

Damn, I'm starting to confuse myself.

Two-photon writing in 3D has shown to be able to write with a bit density of a terabit per cubic centimeter. Is that one of the "multi-layer schemes" you are talking about? My lab has done some research in that general area.

My opinion fwiw. This dispute is regarding star trek season 2 and how its now dead in the water because the funding has been pulled. Thus the reference to "monies in the pipeline for product in the pipeline"

If this gets any more complicated we'll need to call in Robert Langdon to solve this Pentonian Code!

Can't answer your question, but what other way could they come back to HDM other than Blu?

It may go beyond that. Paramount may feel they 100% lived up to their end of the deal and so they deserved 100% of the agreed upon amount, and Toshiba may be trying to not send them some of what Paramount feels they're owed.

It could be that by announcing any Blu-ray support, Paramount would be nullifying the agreement, and they don't want to do that until it's established legally that Toshiba nullified it first. Which may be simple to do, but as Penton-Man says legal issues sometimes take a bit of time to dot all the i's and cross all the t's.

Hopefully people will chill out about Paramount now. I can't believe we went right from victory to another chicken-little crisis ("oh no, I bet they're skipping BD and doing downloads with Microsoft!"). All signs are they're looking to come on board and will do so before too long.

Well, apparently LG can be in it, since they plan to keep making dual players, and Paramount can be in it, since they're TRAPPED IN RED HELL. Maybe Venturer would still be there, since I haven't heard they've officially gotten out, even though they really only sold rebadged Toshibas. Oh, and last I heard Weinstein was still red, though last I heard from them about anything high-def related was a long time ago. I guess they'd just have an empty seat reserved for them.

Kind of a sorry bunch, really...

Oops. I should have read the thread the whole way through before posting anything, as it turns out we were talking about cattle all along.

My mistake.

Jesus, sounds like a bad relapse of the WGA strike.

Oh well, I don't care how long it takes to be resolved, as long as the Boys of Decisive and unflinching Action prevails.
