hah. thanks for the story.

it's true! some people actually get really offended when you try bribing them!

If your sister is interested in becoming an official Paramount insider on this forum please have her PM me or one of the mods so that she can be vetted (undergo the credentialing process).

B.T.W., if she reads this thread, tell her we're not all pervos – just Blu-bloods with an unabashed appreciation for all things beautiful (outside and in).
Thanks Penton...I had worried about posting this stuff on your thread, didn't want to hijack it ...I am trying to get her to do just that, she would be a great insider, and if she doesn't want too, I can just keep posting although that doesn't provide any credentials. As for her thinking we're all pervos, no way, she's as much into this as we are. She is not a member here but does read this site and about 3 or 4 other forums. She is battling out issues for us, I can tell you that...like this time around using lossless sound on everything. She may be promoted this year to a position in which she could actually have a say on these decisions, so I can tell you that would be a big benefit for us here, because she's just as much a aud/vid and movie fan as we are. For the time being, she is passing along many of the comments she sees here (of course there have only been complains since last august, lol). Hopefully this year in the spring I will be going out there, and I love being on the lot. She is working to get me a position there, which means I would leave this frozen tundra of Minnesota.

Oh, and.....she doesn't have a hd-dvd player, but has 2 blu-ray players at home (lol). She did not follow her studio and defect, hehe.

Great story Penton, thanks for sharing. It's good to know that some folks just can't be bought. Michael certainly rocked Toshiba's house to the foundation with that Warner rumor didn't he?

I love these kind of stories. Are there anymore War stories that you can share with us that you might not have been able to before?

Also congrats on the Win! I for one welcome our new Blu Ray Overlords.

Penton, what does that say about the studio with the mountains who took the red suitcase?

Sorry, you really shouldn’t continue posting *inside* information on this or any other insider thread without being properly vetted. Nothing personal.
That is the only true way for the administration here to maintain the standards.
You could however, offer cutting news/information on other threads in this forum.

Encourage your sister to contact us. She would be welcome.

They changed their mind.

Hmm. Is it safe to assume that the BDA 'you're welcome to join' speech for The reMaining HD DVD companies wasn't exactly fully endorsed by all the BDA members? As much as I would like one, I'm sure not holding my breath for a Blu-ray player by one of those companies menTioned.

Wow.

Penton, what do you think about starting a "insiders verterin thread" for "war-fall-out" stories just like this? It would be cool to see them collected togethe if there were enough to assemble into a nice novella...

Michael Burns is my new hero!!!!!!! You know Paramount could learn something about loyalty and honor from Lionsgate.

Penton (and sorry about the barrage of questions)-

I actually had a quick question about Profile 1.1/BD Live features and such. I was wondering if you had any information about how well these features (PiP commentaries, interactive stuff, etc.) have been received by the Blu-ray buying public so far and if we'll be seeing a bigger (or lesser) emphasis on this in the future. I personally enjoy features like that, but it doesn't seem like many people care too much, and I hope they don't vanish away due to a lack of interest.

Penton - Congratulation on a long hard fought win!

I hope Blu-ray does not fall into a sense of complacency. It's still a nasty world out there and competitors will alway be looking for ways to screw Blu-ray. Probably the best way to think of it is to pretend HD-DVD still exists and stay lean, mean and focused on a Blu-ray success over DVD and digital HD transmission.
