As an outside fan I've been very impressed with what Arsene has done over the years. He basically allowed Arsenal to build a new stadium and somehow fielded entertaining/competitive squads at the same time. Even though there hasn't been a trophy in 7 years there is no way I would be looking elsewhere if I was part of the board. The only changes I'd make would be to loosen the purse strings a bit and work on bringing in some older players to support the youthful majority. For my money, he is one of the top 3 coaches in the world.

On a related topic, I hope tomorrow's game is as exciting as the 4-4 draw our respective teams played a couple years ago!

Unfortunately for you, and luckily (at least in the sense of an individual victory) for us, I think the complexion of the game completely changed in our favor after the Arteta injury.

Like I said b4, there can be SOME measure of success for SOME measure of time for a SOME products. Fads eventually pass(hula-hoop, pet rock, women's fashion, etc).

agree, but popularity is not only fads and old fads get replaced by new ones, there is always a few fads going on at a time.

Apple has had a large measure of success and enormous popularity w/ many products over long period.

All companies aspire to be that "cool". So why can't they just simply be more "cool" and have the same success as Apple. BECAUSE THEY CAN'T/DON'T KNOW HOW, THAT'S WHY. The premise of fads, cool, etc. is false because it doesn't answer the question as to why Apple is where they're at, and all the other competitors can't get their product be as big a fad, cool, popular, etc.

the only time I discussed Apple was in the spoiler and the only thing I said is that if someone has something they will use it, soi usage of what you own does not say all that much.

PS. Truth is popularity can be its own reason. All my computers (desktops/laptops) are Windows based but it is nopt because I am in love wiith that OS. Why did I go with Windows? because some of the tools I need for work (and others I want for fun) are only available for windows. And why are they on Windows? because the companies making that SW decided to use the most popular platform because that way they can sell more copies.

Example:

Yes, as i mentioned previously, i feel Arsenal are lacking some steel and grit at the moment. The difference between 'very good' and excellent.

As you know, Arsenal have been blessed with some tremendous defenders through the years and they all had a tough, no compromise attitude. That is lacking at the moment. also, all the greats have a midfield general. Roy Keane for Man U and like you mentioned, Vierra for Arsenal. Very hard to find though, those types of players. They are very rare.

However, i am very jealous that you guys have a player like Van Persie. I hope he stays with you though, just entertaining to watch from a neutrals point of view.

My team were very unfortunate to not come away with all three points against the mags (Newcastle) yesterday. A typical lucky goal deep into injury time against ten men.

Interesting approach. The contacts basically take some of the burden off of the optics in the "glasses". Would make for lighter, cheaper VR glasses, though nothing fundamentally different functionally from what is in development. I wonder how long before there are contacts that build full Fourier transformed images (instead of a focal shift) that don't need accompanying glasses? Would hate to think of how uncomfortable the cable will be on the early prototypes.

With the recent release of the Hugo 3D Blu-ray, I’ve received a couple PMs as to whether it is a good idea to calibrate your 3D display, who I could personally recommend, etc. This is not necessarily in reference to trying to correct any display dependent crosstalk, which is inherent in a 3D television. In essence, yes it’s a good idea to calibrate if you desire the most accurate 3D picture. Marty, Bob R. and the lesser known filmmakers on Hugo utilized regularly calibrated 46” 3D LCD HD monitors on-set to view their footage and of course all D.I. suites are carefully calibrated for dailies viewing as well as post.

I don’t know if Jeff still does calibrations.
