I'm already planning on seeing this! It just came out in theaters here. Wasn't it released in December tho? I thought that was weird!

Only in select theaters throughout the country. I was pretty miffed about that myself, but the wait was WELL worth it.

Funny thing is that I went about an hour and 15 minutes away to see this and I was just about to wait one more week, but I couldn't...then it's playing this week about 10 minuted from my house. Oh well...it was awesome...it will be much easier to digest at home as well!

This is in another thread as well -- wait and see if it's region free and import it from Germany.

I really enjoyed it. Maybe there was something in your popcorn. Either that or there was something in the rest of ours.

I loved the movie but can understand why it polarized people. Still, I can't imagine anyone finding fault with the direction, acting, art direction, or cinematography. Even the naysayers must secretly be glad that filmmakers like PTA are out there in this day and age, willing to try things that are atypical, ambitious and ultimately breathtaking.

Saw this in the theater and the performance by Daniel Day Lewis is worth the buy alone.

Looking forward to a Blu release

BTW, if you have seen the movie, you've got to check out the SNL parody of 'I Drink your Milkshake'

Hilarious

several months later but, I agree with you. I liked the main character in that he was interesting, and the acting on DDL's part was great, but beyond that I just didn't really get engaged at any point and was confused as to exactly what I was watching for.

I agree, its a very different movie and takes a rather different direction than most movies today. Saying that though i still think it was a good movie and cant find any particular fault with it except that it didnt keep me engaged like NCFOM and overall it just left me disappointed.

I finally got to see There Will Be Blood last night and it easily is one of the best films I have EVER seen. Top 5 of all time. To me.... it is definitely better than NCFOM..... and that's a great film. Lewis should definitely get the actor of the year award. Incredible performance. 3 hours of total engrossment. I can't wait for it to come to blu! Double dipping.... goes without saying on the best film of the year.... and one of the best films ever.

He did. Remember that little shindig called The Academy Awards? He won the Best Actor Oscar for his performance in TWBB.
