Sony didn't mention UHD Blu-ray once. Streaming and Sony cameras... that's it.

Better sound quality by further crushing dynamic range...? Wow! Are we ever going backwards!!

This show sucks. Only an app for 4K movies to stream. 4K dies when you stream it.

Pff. Also on that YouTube part. I finally thought they announce and increase bitrates for YouTube. But no.

It's exclusive Sony TV's as well and only plays Sony Home Entertainment movies. Talk about limited.

"At its booth, Sony will also be showing off one of its next-generation technologies, Backlight Master Drive. This technology boosts brightness and contrast even further in order to truly tap the full combined potential of 4K HDR. The Backlight Master Drive demonstration will feature a 85" prototype that achieves precision backlight boosting with ultra high density direct LED backlights. Paired with X-tended Dynamic Range PRO, Backlight Master Drive attains an unprecedented dynamic range, dramatically improving visual depth and realism. It recreates incredibly deep blacks and dazzling lights with an ultra peak brightness of 4,000 nits, generating images so convincing that they appear to be real, right before your very eyes."

" Additionally, at its press conference, Sony unveiled ULTRA, a new app from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment to be launched this year in the US. With ULTRA, you can purchase and stream 4K HDR movies and TV shows – the best new and classic titles from the 4K digital library of Sony Pictures – directly on your Sony BRAVIA TV."

A whole lotta nothing. All these great TV's and the source is hyper compressed streaming.

Sony had another thin TV to show. There goes your screen uniformity Sony. Just like last years model.

Quote:
Ultra will allow you to buy and stream movies from Sony Pictures' catalog — there are supposed to be around 40 to 50 titles to start. Those include Chappie, Elysium, Fury, The Walk, Salt, Men in Black 3, Pineapple Express, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Hancock, and After Earth. That's not the greatest starting lineup, to say the least, but it means that people buying Sony's new TVs will immediately have a way to take advantage of their new set's capabilities, rather than waiting on content to start streaming elsewhere.

I already have an i7 Skylake processor so I'm not really in the market for a processor but the show could be worth watching just in case they shoe horn Ultra HD Blu-ray in there. It wouldn't surprise if it were considering how half arsed it's all been.

More often than not the press is right up the arse of anything streaming so it's surprising that they got off their chair to admit there's no content.

The processor market is pretty dead. Intel dominates it for years. I still have a i7 920 overclocked at 3.7Ghz. It's still rapid fast. And with SSD's, in theory you don't have to upgrade.

Yeah. I mean no mention of a player yet. Samsung is out there well, and Panny said Q2.

Thing is, the Samsung player only has a US release date it could be next year for a UK launch, fine if it's next year so be it, however, I need to know if I should focus on something else this year. I always save big expenses for Christmas so it will be Christmas 2017 at this rate.

Why would it not be released in the UK as well?
