Sony has done some UHD licensing in France but not very much ("Christine" and "Sex, Lies, and Videotape" are the only two Sony-licensed UHDs as far as I know) and I'm not sure exactly what the circumstances were for those licenses.

too little, too late.

BODY DOUBLE is already available in UHD on streaming apps.

criterion is a bit late to the party as usual.

The Indicator disc is incredible, but wow. A criterion UHD would be crazy.

I just bought the indicator release last month, so naturally this is probably true and Criterion will release a 4K...

Have seen none of those actually (but my interest in The Black Dahlia has piqued over time.)

Bin that interest, and watch Body Double instead.

Bonfire of the Vanities is worth seeing on it's technical merits alone.

Agreed! I don't think it's as bad as everyone says. I do think Willis is aggressively miscast. But that tracking shot is a stunner!

Black Dahlia is not great, so temper your expectations when you watch it. It's mediocre De Palma and nowhere near as excellent as L.A. Confidential. It's personally grown on me over the years, but not something I would recommend someone run out and watch right away.

Body Double, OTOH, is a must see, IF you're a fan of De Palma at his trashiest and sleaziest (with tongue firmly in cheek) and thrillers that are dripping with that mid-80s L.A. aesthetic.

IF this is coming I hope it’s a 4K release. I do own the digital version but when I finally tried to watch it of course my internet was being a ***** and in my current situation the internet has good nights but it has a lot of bad nights…in other words: gimme a 4K disc please! The Indicator is solid though.

Yeah, if it's not 4K, I'll stick with my Twilight Time disc.

Read The Black Dahlia. Don't watch it. Same for Bonfire of the Vanities.

Here we go guys, this is probably what Lee Kline was worried about--now every rumored Criterion title thread will be 99.9% people saying they will only buy it if it is a 4K UHD release.

P.S., I will only buy Body Double again if it is a 4K UHD release.

Yeah it would have to be a 4K UHD release for me to buy this again. I have the LE from Indicator and it's pretty definitive.

Criterion will release this now then Sony will follow it up in the spring with a 4k release. I'll just hang on.

You are a much tougher judge than I am in general but I love it, its a personal favorite that ticks all the boxes for me. While I'm sure nostalgia plays a part, I'd give it a huge recommendation and I'd like to hear your thoughts after you see it

One of my favorite movies! I've got the Indicator, but I'd get a Criterion blu if it had some new features, and - to echo everybody in this thread - I would be thrilled for a 4k release.
