It's one of De Palma's best films. But even if you feel iffy towards De Palma, see it for Melanie Griffith's outstanding performance.

I hope it's coming in UHD from Linda Shaw Enterprises.

I have the standard edition from Indicator. Would love a 4K and/or deluxe edition from Criterion.

I'd rather have the standard Indicator release instead of Criterion. Even a pressed instead of Burn on Demand from Sony would be better.

You do realize that a standard Indicator version is still readily avalaible? The contents are pretty much identical to the LE version, with the only differences being the case and the lack of a booklet.

Indicator is annoying with the different versions. Just have them all be the limited editions with the booklet.

But it's an excellent booklet, one of Indicator best, packed with substantial writings.

Long 1984 De Palma interview battling a feminist
An article by De Palma entitled Guilty Pleasures commenting on his favourite films/directors (up until 1987, the date of the article).
A negative review from Britain, iirc.
And an essay.

Like being iffy on Hitchcock because of Family Plot, Jamaica Inn, Under Capricorn, Juno and the Paycock, and Waltzes from Vienna??

All directors have less than ideal movies compared to their best work, but if you haven't seen examples like Blow Out, Carrie, Dressed to Kill, The Fury, Sisters etc.... your opinion is based on gibberish.

Already have the 4k digital but would likely double dip for a physical uhd since the soundtrack's great. I'd probably even prefer to have the Indicator blu despite 1080p over the 4k digital, though it's not a totally fair comparison since the digital was only $4.99.

If this brings more eyes to this movie than I'm all for it. Still want someone to put out a Femme Fatale blu-ray since that's the last major De Palma film that has no blu-ray release whatsoever. Just watched the DVD the other day and it just doesn't cut it in 2021. The HD version of Femme Fatale on Prime actually looks about on par with the DVD.

Been thinking of upgrading my DVD and diving in on digital with this movie. Glad I read this first.

Sigh.

I hope both that Criterion DO end up releasing Body Double; and I hope that WB finally get to the rest of their De Palma titles and release them (Get to Know Your Rabbit, Wise Guys and as you mentioned Femme Fatale).

I also know it's such a longshot that Disney would release Mission to Mars, Magnolia with Redacted, and whoever owns Home Movies (it says United Artists but I think they are part of WB now or at least with home media; I also heard that the rights is like split amongst many).

Was just thinking how much I would like more De Palma in Criterion and how Carrie or Body Double would be great.
