So definitely a very dark comedy with the immorality of the protagonist a key part of the parody imho.

As I recall, the kid was portrayed as an Artful Dodger-ish style sleazy street urchin who was giving Boogie guff. Seemed like he tried to hustle Boogie and Boogie hustled him back.

Although I have a slight impairment as I haven't seen this entirely in English yet.

If it were some cherubic little wholesome kid and Boogie had set him up like that then I'd see the immorality fo'sho.
