I'm wondering this myself, I'm holding off on watching the movie until it comes out on HD.

No, it was announced a while ago that Borat would only be released on DVD, Amazon put up a mistake for Borat on Blu-Ray for sale, but it turned out to be a UMD.

Someone creates a Is Borat going to be in Blu-ray? topic every week instead of using the Search button and they get a couple of replies, instead of finding a whole thread about it and then I have to come and do this: Search Borat - titles only - show as threads.

Can someone tell me why they want a poorly filmed movie (how the movie was shot.. the movie was quite funny and enjoyable otherwise) on Blu-Ray?

Maybe a close up or Borat's nose hair in high-def? Really... whats the point? I would think there are many more titles more worthy of your BR dollars than Borat.

Yeah, Borat was not meant for HD at all technically and in terms of style.

I liked this movie, I'll buy on Blu-ray if they release it. Are the scenes shot without script, I mean are the interviewees actors or "real" people?

Perhaps it can be referred to what Deci said....

When you compare both DVD and Blu-ray using just 480 resolution, the Blu-ray version will STILL appear cleaner. So even if you just have a cheap SDTV, there WILL BE some sort of improvement (over DVD) and NOT DEGRADATION (unlike what ignorant HD-DUD fanboys claim).

hey i was looking at imdb and found out that fox was the distributor of borat one of the last years biggest hits and was just wondering why is it nowhere to be heard or seen on the bluray website

I was actually very pleased with the regular DVD release of Borat. It looks amazing. The best DVD I've seen.

Borat was shot to intentionally make it look it was home video caliber PQ. Get the DVD ...it will probably look the same.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread. Looks like FOX is not interested in releasing Borat on Blu-ray.

Would be great if insiders can influence FOX and get this one out of the BLU and on BLU.

It was shot using HD cameras then transferred to film.

I have it on DVD, I'm not sure it's really Blu-ray caliber, it's been a while since I saw it, and I think it'll stay that way...
